@@oldageisdumb I was the OTC [over the counter] manager, and ordered and stocked the shelves, and because I delt with customers on a daily basis, I had to be up on what I carried on my shelves. Many of the items on the shelves at Walmart come from the same company that carry the brand names. Same thing in Mexico BTW. Mexico carries [not all] medications that are manufactured in the US. It's just the packaging that's in Spanish that's different. Many items in the grocery section labeled as their brand, Great Value, come from the same facility that processes the brand name.

This is feels like a hit piece by a competitor. I also cause BS on most of this video. Half of the teens in our town work for Walmart as a first job. As far as sales go sales have been planned by ALL stores! 🙄 Sale prices on different items happen on a six week cycle in almost ALL grocery stores. Maybe they put out clearance items where you don’t see them because a bunch of hodgepodge stuff semi-grouped together is not an attractive display?? This is a HUGE store so most of these problems are at EVERY STORE so maybe it’s more noticeable in a larger area than in a smaller store. And if you think a $60 bookshelf is made of something other than particle board you are the one with a problem!!😂😂I mean seriously if you buy furniture at Walmart you are more likely buying for a tween, teen or a college student parent or student yourself looking for a cheap piece to get you through school or for your first apartment not something that is high quality and built to last for generations. That kind of furniture comes later on for the majority of people. My gosh what do you expect for the price?? Think IKEA lite :) Furniture at Walmart is there it’s cheap it’s convenient and eventually will be left sitting on the side of the road for another poor college student to pick up and reuse while they’re in school! LOL 😆 Also I see more women working at Walmart than men at every store. It may just be a me thing, but my husband agrees that you tend to see mostly women working there. Think of the bakery …when you walk up is it a man or a woman? We see about 50/50 in the “weapon” section… For us it’s usually a woman if you wanna ask someone how much different fruit and/or vegetables are. If you stand at the end of the row of cashiers in stores that still use them, they were always huge rows of women at Christmas time like 10-15 female cashiers working side-by-side and a teenage boy bagging your groceries and other items. This is the most ridiculous video I’ve ever seen to say bad things about a company it really is laughable!! If you expect the highest quality furniture for the cheapest price you get what you pay for and you should know it… but their fruit and veg section is usually high-quality for great prices so again I called BS on this video!!😆😆😆

Supplements are regulated by the FDA and must meet the label claim for each vitamin. There is no way a corporation the size of Walmart would put themselves in risk to short change the customer buying their supplements.

The worst things I experienced while working at Walmart were: 1. They stretch you to your breaking point. Every week I was expected to run electronics, photo lab, connection center, fabric table, office & furniture, and site to store by myself. They also asked me to learn how to mix paint and I said no and ended up not getting a raise that year. 2. Assistant mangers are lazy. They always cave to angry customers and never back up the employee. One time I went looking for an assistant manager because I needed help and they weren’t responding on the walkie-talkie and found one giving another a back massage…eew. 3. They incentivize selling Walmart credit cards 4. Different job codes are expected to do the same work, but the pay is different. For example, the connection center job code pays more than the electronics job code, but both positions were expected to do each others jobs. My husband worked at a distribution center. 1. If pallets of produce fell on the warehouse floor, they’d just pick it up and restack it and load it on the trucks for delivery (wash your produce! I keep a water bottle of vinegar next to my sink for this reason) 2. They wouldn’t let an employee go home sick and then refused to get medical help when that employee suffered an emergency because management didn’t want to lose the title of “#1 Safety DC award”. That employee now has permanent brain damage. 5. In lieu of a bonus during 2020, they handed out a case of Top Ramen instead.

As for the firearm area. You have to be certified to be allowed to sell them. I know this because I work there. And not just anyone can get certified, they will do a check on youat least in my store they do. As for being a male dominant area, my store is not that way. We have more female leaders than male overall.... mainly cause what I've been told we get shhhhh done and are more likely to make sure it's right so it's not too be redone as the male in my store spend more time yaking and not stacking. As for the harassment part, ethics dept takes things super serious and even using the wrong pronoun, if it offended someone can get you fired, trust me, almost for fired for saying she instead of he by mistake when congratulating someone on their marriage and it offended someone and I was almost fired for using it. And Sundays is when most of our clearances drop in our system and we have to approve and tag every item that falls into that system, so many will hit us up on Sunday afternoons or Mondays, food is done first thing in the morning. In my dept I allow my associates to do it a day early if we have a lot of backstock of that item

I worked for Walmart for 7 years in various departments. This was in the 90's. In Sporting goods, I stocked the amo and sold firearms as well as selling hunting and fishing licenses along with all the add ones, ie: for river, or ocean. Big game add ones etc. I didn't have to be certified back then. I just had to be very careful filling out the paperwork, and verifying the customer, down to everything had to be in black ink. I didn't mind working in sporting goods as a female. It was better than working Softlines.

I don't know why the discounted bakery items would be in this particular video. That stuff is great. It's usually just stuff that they made too much of. It wasn't bought in time. The expiration date is coming up fast, and they need to get rid of it. It isn't always hidden in some back section of the grocery area. It just depends on how the store is laid out and where they have extra room to put a rolling rack of baked goods.

Black Friday (over the past 5 years) has been increasing less chaotic and not nearly as pushy, rude, and violent. Most chain stores now sell the same door-busters online so no one really has to go to the store to get their 70 inch TV for $500. They can just do it online, have it delivered free, or they can pick it up at the local store within 14 days - giving them time to rest and relax. Walmart and I separated years ago. I will ONLY shop there if I can't get what I want somewhere else. I have known about these "secrets" for years, and believe me, there's more to it than this.

Saying Walmart's products are cheaper then other companies and therefore not as good as higher priced stores is like saying a Ford Escort isn't as good as a Porsche; duh that is why you pay ten times more, you're paying for the higher quality elsewhere. The point is you know your not getting the best product, but your getting the best product for the price your willing to pay for what your using it for. And I know people who have worked for Walmart before and they don't hire and discriminate against anyone any more or less then any other low paying jobs, and they get sued more then most because they are the largest retailer in the world so it only makes sense some employees aren't going to be happy wherever they work and the bigger you are the more you get by size. I'm a Walmart customer and the thing I like the most is I can return anything even without a receipt and they always take it back without a question.

If someone is convicted of a crime, and they are a 'danger to society' they are still incarcerated. Any convicted individual who is no longer incarcerated, is not trying to work a low paying job like Walmart, and still a danger to people. Give me a break. Criminals who get hired at Walmart are the ones trying to get their life back together and it may be one of the only places that will hire them. Those who get out and are still dangerous, are the ones going back to committing crimes for $$.

Years ago my niece did a project for school. She went to various stores such as Walmart and target in different neighborhoods. She found the prices on essential items such as diapers, baby formula, toothpaste, and so on to be higher in lower neighborhoods. The reason being that consumers in higher end neighborhoods were more willing and able to travel greater distances in order to acquire better deals.

As a current walmart employee who used to assemble furniture displays I can assure you that the furniture is crap. It is mostly cardboard and poor quality particle board with a printed paper woodgrain finish. The only things that seem to have any quality to them are the TV stands, both the "wood" and metal type. Stay away from the "Mainstays" furniture brands, that stuff is held together with mostly wood pegs and hope. While some stores try th hide their "Clearance" section our store does not. It is well marked and almost every department has at least one back endcap that has clearance items.

I worked 17 years at Walmart. Started at the bottom and worked my way up to Assistant Manager. I love the company, and I would say some, but not all of these things are true. Criminals, whether for theft, violence, or sexual assault all have to acknowledge that they have a criminal record when applying. Their background checks will be flagged if there is a problem. Price changes drop in bulk per department, and the manager for that area has till Friday to complete them. Many times, it take a couple of day to get through them if you're in charge of several departments. Discounted food happen every morning between 6am and 9am. The bakery puts theirs on a rack a wheels it to the back of the grocery aisles hoping shoppers will purchase fresh products before trying day old ones. The deli and meat market and produce reduced items stay on the shelf with reduced yellow tags on them, usually 50 to 75% off. Items will also be reduced if they've been discontinued. Most walmarts will have 3 clearance sections: 1 in grocery, 1 in electronics and the largest near the hardware/garden departments.

The reason Walmart can get away with charging more for their organic products is because there's a Walmart in pretty much every town in America. Other companies that sell organic products like Trader Joe's are much more spread out and there are far less of them so you could have to drive at least an hour or two or more to get to another company that sells organic products or you can just purchase them from the Walmart that is already in your town and save the gas and time

I learned the other day that "the customer is always right" is only half the phrase. Store owner Harry Selfridge said: "The customer is always right, in matters of taste." In other words, if a customer loves an ugly shirt, if they like it they should buy it. Don't talk a customer out of a purchase. It never meant that employees have to bend over backward to satisfy an unruly customer.

We have a smaller Walmart in our town, they’ve been trying to expand or open a new store. Majority of the residents and city officials have fought tooth and nail to stop it from happening. They had trouble keeping the shelves stocked since we had a large number of people move into town and then Covid hit and we got even more residents and they had even more trouble keeping stocked up. I’ve been going to Target instead. Also the lines at Walmart are always horrendous, I saw a guy with a cart full of groceries and other things, he was in line complaining about how few lines were open, he cursed and abandoned his shopping.

Our Walmart's clearance section is total rubbish. Between the discount not being very much, they place items that have been deleted from the shelf but not the price. Ours is located just next to the garden supply dept. Mind you, there are other clearance areas like in clothing and sometimes just individual items where they are trying to keep shelves looking somewhat full. Once a season they pull out tables, U-boats, boxes, etc to get rid of bulk items that are clearance, like shoes, clothing, brands that were replaced, etc in the center aisles where it can be a tripping hazard to get around.

Lewis -37 year veteran nurse here. ALL vitamins at ALL stores unless they are prescription grade contain varying amounts of the vitamin and various substances used to "carry" the vitamins & OTC (over the counter) meds. Prescription grades have a minimum percentage of drug or vitamin BY LAW to guarantee therapeutic effect (though exactly how much over the minimum varies with the manufacturers.) Lesson here is KNOW YOUR BRANDS. PS This video contains so many misrepresentations of WalMart, and labels common practices of stores to promote sales as being unique and underhanded to WalMart, the store should file a libel lawsuit. And yes, I use WalMart regularly and know folks who work there.

The prices of the non-perishables change too, but not as much.

One thing to watch for is if you buy meat for pickup. Walmart will put a hold on your bank account for 2x or more of the listed price. This can bite you if your account is a little low and you're counting on having a little bit left over to tide you until the next payday, suddenly you're broke and still have a few days to go and the hold isn't coming off for 5 to 10 days.

Prices of product can change, not only by cost, but also their own ability to have need in the area. If local warehouses are low on an item, it could raise the locations affected by up to 10%. Deals can change daily, though some deals change by week or month. The early deals, I just sleep during the day. I have seen Xbox 360’s or PS4’s for around 100 dollars. Walmart actually can load an entire home or office with cheap generic things. Most is cheaply made, so don’t last long.

Also as for the pricing, Walmart generally only makes a profit on their own brand. They take a loas of name brands to sell them at a lower price. Walmart brand products are not of lesser quality, they just cost the compnay less to sell.

I don't know about the supplement statement. Retailers that sell under their own store name usually have a deal with outside manufacturers who agree to make the product for the retailer in addition to selling product under their real name, too. I can't say if Walmart does that, but it seems likely. The only company that I know makes something themselves is Costco, when it comes to their hot dogs. They built their own hot dog making plant so that they could let customers have a cheap meal after shopping at their store. I happened across that in a video about them a number of months ago and it only applies to their hot dogs. The CEO demanded it. Sears appliances were always contracted out to another company and you could just ask them who made their washing machines, e.g. and they would tell you.

❤I was an Assistant Manager at WALMART. IT is true it is male oriented, unless your a Vamp and fall in line. I was 9nce forced to take a class how a female should dress..IMO. One day, after being harassed constantly, (Actually being told by the a**hole, he thought it was fun to mess with the female staff on purpose because he knew we needed our job)...I just walked out and never looked back...I shop local now.

Most people don't have an Aldi to shop at. They're regional. Very Regional. And if you can afford to grocery shop at Trader Joe's, you're already not going Walmart. This is gonna be one of those "if you can't afford Gucci, don't buy anything, you might as well die" videos.

Many of these points were incorrect. The most glaring was background checks. Those are done always, and by a 3rd party company, so Walmart has no say it input on if the person passes. After that, if they are going to be able to sell guns, there is a second deeper background check done.

WalMart is a truly despicable company. We did an architectural job for the former CFO of WalMart when he was employed there. You can imagine what the pay for the CFO of WalMart is like. He got caught stealing and selling gift cards back to the company, something he had been doing since he was just a regional manager. WalMart did nothing to correct this situation, he was caught by law enforcement. We are starting to see "surge" pricing at retailers and groceries, where the price changes from when you picked it off the shelf to when you pay for it at the register. They are hoping you don't notice when things are scanned and you pay more than you expected. True bait and switch style sales.

Aldi prices are better than Walmart. Walmart doesn't have much organic food anyway. Their other company Sam's Club has a lot of organic food and that is where I usually buy it. Walmart also has 2.1 million associates worldwide, with about 1.6 million in the United States so I don't doubt there will be some issues with a work force of that size. A lot of companies and not only Walmart change their prices all the time and sometimes even if you go a particular site and later go back the price will be different. To be honest I don't really notice great discounts being announced at Walmart.

I worked there for a year and I can't say I miss it. I hate retail. They literally hired me on the spot. All they did was a short interview and then set me at a computer that went through some training for the job. They didn't even tell me I was hired, I had to ask because I thought I was going to fill something out, not get trained lmfao. No background check. With the sexual harassment, I had one male coworker put his arm around my shoulders and then slowlyyyy slide away with this disgusting look. He did it in front of my female manager. He knew she probably couldn't do anything about it but she sure voiced her dislike of him to me.

I work for Walmart for 26 years and most of this is lies. They definitely do a background check. All retail stores are guilty of making business with countries with unfair working conditions. As far as discrimination depends on the person who is doing the hiring not the Company.

Most major companies (including Walmart) take out life insurance policies on employees when they are hired. Part of the paperwork states that you give your permission to allow this. Even if you stop working at Walmart, they keep the insurance policy. And upon your eventual death, they cash in. They get the money, not your family. This is a separate policy from your one that is kept secret from you.

It's not a scam if you say it's OK and they pay for it. Whomever pays the claim is the owner of the claim. If you wanted to stop them from collecting you could revoke the policy but if you sign it knowing you can't revoke, that's on you. Know the laws!
