I myself, I absolutely love mint chocolate! ❤️ When I was a kid. My mother was working for Sears department stores in Austin Texas. They had a small candy kiosk in the middle of the store on the ground floor. I always drooled over the freshly made candies, freshly roasted nuts and chocolate creations. When I was around twelve years old I received a ten dollar bill on my birthday. I held on to that ten dollar bill until we got to go back to Sears and as soon as we arrived I headed straight for that kiosk and bought ten dollars worth of the mint chocolate discs. I was in heaven. And I was twelve and not yet in complete control of all my own impulses . And one of those unmanageable impulses told me to eat that entire bag of chocolate mints. I was sick to my stomach for a day and a half. I didn't think that I'd ever be able to enjoy chocolate mints ever again because of the horrible diarrhea that ensued. And the worst part of it.... I left the bathroom smelling of mint chocolate every time I finished! I thought that I'd be traumatized forever. But my impulses were apparently stronger than my trauma because I never stopped enjoying mint chocolate candy.

The fact is Hersey reformulated their chocolate during the great depression, in order to cut costs. That’s why they also put the preservative in there that taste, funky grandma said before the crash the Hershey’s chocolate was thicker and had no preservatives that came along when they cited that they need to prolong the chocolate to last longer.

The creme egg is, extremely overly, nastily sweet. The caramel egg however, is about perfect imo. :)

I must say that American chocolate can have a bad rap amongst European's, which I think is totally unjust and unfair. If you're referring to Hershey's, or another mass market brand, then, yes, I agree it's not the best. However, we do have our share of incredible chocolate here in the States. For instance, there is an absolutely amazing chocolate shop located in my town square that specializes in making fine, handcrafted chocolates. Every piece of chocolate is handmade in the shop and is made from the finest, high quality chocolate. So people really need to try chocolate from one of these specialty shops in the States and not just go by Hershey's.
