You're right, bogans are pretty carefree lot really and most pretty good-hearted too because they know what it's like on struggle street. Not on the rob and vaping, like eshays .. 😄

VB. Victorian Bitter. Great beer, Gotta be ice cold though.

"VB" is "Victoria Bitter" (yes it's beer) ironically it's made by the same Brewery as "Fosters Lager" (Carlton and United Brewery). The difference is that VB is actually drinkable and is the preferred tipple for many a dinky di Aussie (including me). Every State has it's most popular beer from it's most local brewery but VB permeates the entire nation and is found everywhere.

Kabir you need to react to Houso’s episode 1. This show is over the top Bogan. I’ll admit I’m a Mid level bogan. I own at least 6 flanno’s at any given time. Wear black t shirts and jeans. Drive an SS Ute and drink far more than I should. Smokes are too expensive now lol. Love ya bro.

From the east coast Bali is thereabouts 6 to 7hr flight. 4hrs from Sydney will get you to any of the pacific islands including New Zealand. I have a photo with the Bogan shire sign as my hubby comes from a little town called Condobolin and we drive pass this sign and the bogan river a few times a year.

With Pokies (slot machines), I understand your question. It looks so boring. In learning about the psychology around addiction and the brain. The lights that flash and the bell sounds on the machine cause a chemical reaction in the brain to keep the person wanting more. Thus feeding an addiction like drugs or alcohol. The brain keeps wanting more, even though the person knows that they're wasting their money. The same flashing lights and bell sounds are also used by to create video games and thats why people struggle to stop.

Yes, "Centrelink" is the shopfront for the Department of Social Security (Social Services), it's where you apply for (and complain about) your unemployment benefits/Pensions etc. Over the years there have been many iterations of "Centrelink", all going by different names, but they all boil down to the same thing, Social Security. This version, the "Centrelink" version has been around since the late 1990s.

What do you call a female bogan? Boganette. What do you call a rich bogan? Boganaire. What do you call the suburb where a bogan lives? Boganville! Some Aussie humour. We even have roads named after them. Near Mt Beauty Victoria is Bogan Road! Housos are a little different from bogans. Housos - Usually on the dole and live in lowest socio economic suburbs with overgrown grass on front yard and usually an unregistered Falcon or Commodore in the front yard (spare parts car).

Yes you are correct Kabir, never judge a book by it's cover as the saying goes. As an Aussie growing up in the western suburbs of Sydney I have meet my fair share of the so called bogan, and I've met a few where I thought who's this lunatic. Then once I got to know them better they had a heart of gold and would help me out with what ever I needed and I would do the same in return. I remember being in at the Rocks in Sydney on New Years Eve about 20 years ago and as you can imagine there were people everywhere and we all of a suden broke through the crowd and there was nobody but an empty space. And I thought what's this? And this guy was standing there with tattoos all over him and swaying about, obviously pissed out of his mind, looked like a trouble maker, would not like to be in a fight with him he would have broken my arms and legs. And he asked me did I have a cigarette and of course I said yes, I gave him a cigarette and lit it for him, and he said thanks mate, and I shook his hand and said Happy New Year, and he said same to you mate thanks for the cigarette. Do not judge people because of the way they look or what they wear or what they look like.

I could be classed as a Bogan I wear the Flano shirt and thongs, drive a V8 Holden have a mullet haircut and live in Western Sydney the only major problem is I'm originally from England so I'm a Pommy Bogan I guess nearly all the Bogans I've met are pretty good people

The shoey was made famous by Aussie Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo when he won a race somewhere & on top of the podium showed the world of our secret way of drinking beer. Typically the world followed, especially Seppo's who have to have & copy what the rest of the world does then claims they came up with it. A four hour flight doesn't get u to Perth from Sydney. It's takes around 11 hours to Thailand from Sydney so its around 9-11 hours depending where ur flying from

I lived a few years in the UK back in the 90s, and VB could be found at the Walkabout Tavern. Not that I'd drink it. It's disgusting 😂 Perth to Bali is around 3.5/4 hours. Chavs are our eshays 😂 give me a bogan any day!

Bogan is a shire in NSW. In the town of Nyngan, on the Bogan River, they celebrate Boganism with a large statue of a guy in stubbies (shorts) and a fishing rod and fish. It's generally a piss take but people now called Bogans have in the past been known as Bourkes and Dubbos, also towns in country NSW.
