Yes Lewis, us Americans always sit and hatch our eggs. Where else would we get our chickens? Then, with some of the hatched chickens, we let them grow up so then they can lay eggs and the cycle begins all over again. We have "egg-sitting night" on Thursdays in my family. It used to get messy sometimes before they came out with those great cushions. My old granny, when she got heavier, used to always run into problems. If she sat on four dozen eggs at a time, half would end up broken. We'd then half to make omelets for the next week or so. It was wild!!! I'll bet that you can't wait to get here and sit on the eggs, too. Thanks Lewis for the great video!

Mac and cheese is a standard food that kids like. So we grow up with it. Then, in college, it became popular because you can cook it in a hot pot or microwave and it's filling. It's considered a comfort food.

The UK just doesn’t know how to make decent Mac and cheese. Making it takes time and effort and ingredients that you don’t seem to have. It takes 4 different cheese types and some skill to do it. The absolute original Mac and cheese was from the 1800s made for a salesman trying to sell a pasta machine. It was just pasta in a shape with a little cheese on top. It evolved into modern Mac and cheese when mothers got the recipe and tried to improve it it’s current form is a casserole that is cheesy, crunchy and beautifully cooked. The instant stuff has no baring on hard work and satisfied tummies.

@@Kim-427 You are so right! When I got married, my husband said he liked macaroni and cheese, so I made some for dinner. He just stared at it for a bit before saying, "what's this? I thought you were making mac & cheese?" I was crushed. Turned out, his mother had never made actual macaroni and cheese - just slopped out the stuff in the blue box. He'd never had real mac and cheese! And I had never had the nasty blue box stuff. Still haven't. I'll probably be the only person if my generation to die without having had the blue box dreck. 😂 He hated real baked macaroni and cheese so I had to make a compromise stove top version that I would then pour into a large casserole and bake long enough for the top to brown.

Fun fact: The makers of “Stove Top Stuffing” introduced the product in 1972 and was originally going to sell it between US Thanksgiving and Christmas as Americans normally only ate dressing during the holidays. Then when the product flew off the shelf, General Foods decided to make it available all year. Instant Stuffing became as popular as mashed potatoes!

The mac and cheese thing, especially if you are American and grew up poor, our Mom's couldn't afford meat all the time. Usually just a roast chicken Sunday, meatloaf Wednesday, and maybe fish stcks Friday. So Spaghetti monday, some kind of ethnic thing Tuesday (we are slavic, so vegapaprikash a vegetable stew over rice) and Thursday was Macaroni and cheese. Mainly so Mom could serve the leftover on Friday supper with the fish sticks. By the way, this is the weekly menu for kids in the 1960's. Every decade it must have changed. But ling story short (too late) mack and cheese is nostalgia for being a kid.

Ben and Jerry's, Blue Bell and Haagen-Dazs are some of the best. Edit: those "baby" carrots are actually full sized carrots that were damaged or broken after being uprooted by a machine. Pink lemonade actually comes from a woody plant native to the southern US called Sumac. The berries are very small, but have a tart taste that's similar to raspberries. Also, it amazes me that other countries don't have varieties of things you already get, like the oreos. No one is stopping you from making this stuff. You can do it on your own.

Breyers used to be good - top market but Kraft sold them to the British goliath Unilever who - typical of corp takeovers - changed the formulary to "basically the same ingredients" (READ: "cheaper") and changed the production process to cut every corner they could to save $$$ and still legally call it ice cream - even changed the traditional tag of "All Natural Ingredients" to "Quality Ingredients" and began shrinking package sizes. They also got in trouble for pushing "Non-Dairy Desserts" (legally can't be called ice cream) in the same packaging as their regular ice cream until people started noticing that their "ice cream" tasted different and no longer melted at room temperature. lol, Unilever is like the VaultTec of food.

For mac-n-cheese there's a huge difference between the version you heat up and stir in a saucepan...and the kind you bake in a casserole dish for holiday dinners. The former is made with cheese sauce and comes out soft; the latter is made with real shredded cheese and comes out with crispy edges. 😋 If you want to doctor up a box of Kraft mac-n-cheese, mix in some ground beef or some cut-up hot dogs. 😋 You can even stir in some hot sauce. 😀 13:20

Maybe you would like Southern Mac and Cheese, which is baked in the oven. I made a giant pan yesterday and it SLAPPED 🔥 The cheese in baked mac and cheese is different than the creamy cheese in the type you said you don’t really care for. The cheese melts, but it isn’t runny. The cheese and noodles (and butter, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, dry mustard) bake into a firm dish that can be cut in squares, yet it’s still soft to eat. The cheese is “melty”-like on really good pizza- not creamy or runny. I use different combinations of cheese…yesterday I used sharp cheddar, medium cheddar, and extra sharp white cheddar.

Try home made mac & cheese, it's super easy to make! Cook and drain the macaroni, add a stick of butter, plenty of chunks of your favorite cheddar, some chopped fresh onion, salt & pepper, 3/4 cup of milk, and mix it together and put it in a 2-quart casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes (check it at 35 so as not to overcook). Some people like to sprinkle the top with bread crumbs or parmesan cheese prior to baking, but that's optional. This is NOT like the creamy pre-made stuff. And it's delicious!

Say what you want about capitalism. I think it is the driving force behind why our stores have so many different varieties of the same product. It all comes down to clever marketing in order to outsell your competition. If there were no other cookie brands (Chips Ahoy, Keebler, Nestle, etc.) Oreo would probably only offer one type of cookie. They wouldn't need to offer so many varieties in order to entice people to buy their product.

I grew up in Pennsylvania, used to go to Hershey Park as a kid. Hershey's chocolate is garbage compared to European chocolate. Best American chocolates are Ghiradelli and Dove.

My mom used to make relish with sweet pickles and a little onion and just a bit of mustard. Perfectly mixed, it is the best hotdog topper. Add extra onions and ketchup. 😋

That cushion isn't so you can sit on an egg, it's a demonstration of how soft but supportive the cushion is. And Swedish Fish not in the UK? They're literally from SWEDEN! They aren't an American thing. The company has manufacturing facilities here, but we only have ONE of the like ten flavors! They started and are headquartered IN SWEDEN and you guys don't have them? That's so weird! I'd expect the UK, and EU, to have them! That Pink Lemonade is a powdered drink mix. Just add it to water and add some sugar according to the recipe on the package, mix, chill, drink. The dude would have been able to get more if he'd gone to Walmart. Target is middle class Walmart. He'd get a lot more content, too. the people at Walmart can be wild.

The mixes in the container like that already contain the sugar. It would be a concentrated packet like kool-aid mix if sugar was required.

Hershey chocolate is delicious….. and they make a variety of products like Reese’s…. And the Hershey chocolate syrup is used over ice cream, or in milk to make chocolate milk …. It’s awesome
