@LIZZYinTHECUT just going by pure numbers isn't very accurate. for instance Britain has only invaded Russia when protecting Poland from the Bolsheviks. it only invaded Bulgaria when helping Serbia take back its country in WW1. it also includes multiple countries Britain only invaded because they were allied with WW2 Germany. that number even includes places like japan and Iceland simply because there was an occupation without an actual invasion the US is 3rd in the world for the country with most battles won even though a good chunk of them was during the civil war. even if you switch things and make it which countries has Britain invaded just because it can/wanted too i would put bets that 90% of the time its France,Spain,Norway just pure numbers mean nothing unless theres context for why each one happened

These young men were in the military. They couldn't see their families for 5 years after going into the military. They said if they were out in the field they were on their own as far as food and things they needed. They said most military guys would steal from farm houses and such to survive and the North Korean people hated them for it. These two are now in South Korea. One spoke to an American Army guy and he asked him if he hated him. The American assured him he didn't hate him at all! The people of North Korea are brainwashed from a very early age!

The Israeli - Palestinian conflict goes clear back to " Abraham, Issac, and Jacob" from the bible. If you know the stories then you can understand that it depends on how you look at it as to who has "biblical authority from GOD" to have the Holy land.
@rosameryrojas-delcerro10592 жыл бұрын
Jews, Christians (Jesus of Nazareth died and ascended to heaven there), and Muslims (Muhammad ascended to heaven and spoke to Allah there) all believe that "Yahweh/God/Allah" says that the holy land belongs to them. The Jews (as a religion, the city itself is one of the oldest on the planet and was polytheistic prior to Judaism) were there first (around 3700 years). Christians had 11 crusades to try and take the place and Muslims have tried an equal number of times, and Muslims, like Christians also occupied Isreal off and on for centuries. So the beef between Jews and Christians began around 2000 years ago when the Jews crucified Jesus of Nazareth, and the beef between Jews and Muslims began around 600 years ago when Muhammad spoke to Allah there. And the fact that both Christians and Muslims keep trying to take the place from the Jews, and each other (for 600 years) is at the root of all the BS now.

TL:DR on Israel-Palestinian Conflict Israel was the birthplace of the Jewish people approx. 4,000 years ago, and they were a significant majority before multiple failed rebellions against the Romans which led to mass expulsions (Many went to Europe) and executions. The name "Palestine" derives from the Roman name "Syria Palaestina", which was the name given to the area after one of the rebellions as punishment, renaming it from Judea. Jews lost the majority population sometime in the 7th century, with no one group gaining a majority until an Arab majority came about sometime in the 9th century. Muslim rulers were relatively tolerant of the Jews, although there were many instances of expulsions and whatnot. Crusaders relentlessly persecuted Jews (and muslims) in the region, as well as (most) Christian Kingdoms in Europe placing severe limits on the rights of Jews with a few exceptions. Under Ottoman rule Jews were (again, with a few exceptions) treated relatively well. Jews made up approximately 9% of the population of the region in 1890, when large amounts of Jews began to immigrate to the region. Towards the end of Ottoman rule many Jews were exiled from the area. Under British rule, Jews who had been exiled by the Ottomans were permitted to return along with with even larger numbers of Jews immigrating to the area as a result of the Balfour declaration, which declared support of the are becoming a "national home for the Jewish people". Tensions between Arabs and Jews increased in this period, with Arabs revolting against the British and attacking Jews. The British, before leaving, submitted a proposal for partition of the territory between Israel and Palestine with slightly more than half the territory going to the Jews. The population at this point was about 600,000 Jews to 1.2m Arabs. The Jews accepted the plan, the Arabs didn't and refused to accept any form of territorial partition, insisting the entire territory be Palestine. In 1948, the day after the British withdrew, the armies of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Iraq invaded the Jewish territory, were defeated, and Israel annexed parts of the territory initially given to Palestine which brought them from about controlling a bit more than 50% of the territory to controlling 75%. The Jewish population grew dramatically from immigration from Holocaust survivors, Jews expelled from Arab countries, and other Jews, while expulsions of large amounts of Palestinians decreased the Arab population significantly. Israel has since been invaded multiple times by its Arab neighbors and has defeated said neighbors every time. Multiple propositions to resolve the conflict have failed, and the conflict has continued with state-sponsored Jewish settlers expanding ever further into Palestinian regions and Palestinians engaging in state-sponsored acts of terrorism. Both sides have committed atrocities against the other side, along with fringe groups that are not sponsored by either side engaging in even more heinous acts. Currently Palestinian controlled areas are the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with Israel controlling the rest of the territory. btw this is a severely oversimplified description of the conflict and history, it gets REALLY complicated

I was surprised to see the UK on the list. Most hated to me should be based on how a country has acted in the past, Oh say 75 years and what they are doing now. Not so surprised about the USA being on the list. I expected we'd be at the top. The Vietnam war was so political and wrong. The Korean war wasn't much better. I think both were more of a "policing action" in the politicos eyes. Vietnam was never officially declared a war. I will say, America financially helped rebuild European countries after WWII. It was supposed to be paid back and none of them, (except France), ever paid the USA back. Though we are not the only ones who do it, there are countless times we have jumped in to help when a country has gone through a disaster of some kind. Too bad we have been unfortunate enough to have leadership rift with corruption trying to flush US down the toilet. As was said, often it isn't the people who need to be hated. It's the governments that run things that do.

I feel like the Korean war had a good outcome though. If you look at North Korea vs South Korea today. If the U.S. hadn't focused so much on oil and had truly helped the people I feel like we wouldn't be hated as much.

@@madelinelee4331 Like Vietnam, the Korean engagement was not a war in the sense that the USA did not declare war on either country. The Korean conflict started in 1950 when N. Korea attacked S. Korea. S. Korea asked for our help in preventing N. Korea from over running them. So Vietnam was lost to the communist movement and S. Korea was saved from it. The U.S. committed to trying to conquer N. Korea after beating them back. We failed to succeed. The country is still divided after all this time. So you're saying that 100 years from now, no one will know about those of us who are alive today? I don't think Americans hate the British for the American Revolution; I've never picked up on that sentiment. I don't hate the British but I think they are rude and stuck-up, and they don't seem to like Americans; maybe that's jealousy, but they think too much of themselves. Also I just cannot respect them for how they pay so much money to finance the monarchy. Accounts for the Sovereign Grant, which funds the Queen and her household’s official expenses, released in June of 2022 show the monarchy cost the taxpayer £102.4 million during 2021-22 - an increase of 17% from the previous financial year. And what does the monarch do? They too are rude and stuck-up and contribute very little of value to the British people. And the people hang onto them WHY?

The Monarch pays a lot of that back in Tax's, they do a lot of charity work which brings in millions, and bring in a lot of money due to tourists, as well as the Monarch will only retire when she dies, average people retire at around 60, she's over 90 and STILL working. Right, but other societies allowed for the offspring of slaves to be free and even hold a place in their father's (or mother's) family. Britain out of all the major players of the slave trade was the last in first out and not even in the top 3 biggest. and afterward Britain waged a 100 year war against slavery forcing over 60 different countries and kingdoms to end it costing tens of thousands of lives and putting Britain into dept that took 200 years to pay off. and if people actually look into India most of the problems tend to involve events outside of Britain's control that everyone seems to overlook. and the conflicts issue seems to come from peoples lack of knowledge on history ive even seen multiple people blame Britain for both world wars. you say refuse to face their real past/history and change, i say done more than anyone else to right its wrongs yet still gets singled out and beaten over the head with zero chance of redemption.

Isreal.

Was surprised at first too. I'm german and my grandfather had the Jewish religion affiliation and managed to stay alive in the KZ or Ghetto Theresienstadt (Terezín) so i know how dark the german past was but the thing is everyone here knows what happened. It's taught in School and i think every Child in Germany will see at least one location with that historic background. The way germany handles the topic is very clear, very direct and doesn't hide anything so we are always aware of this past and could develop from it. The reason we're not in the top 10 might be, that the way how we're handling our past and the development of our society got acknowledged. I really think this way could serve as a role model for some countries with unsolved historical problems.

Unlike what the video says, the UK was hardly one of the first countries to introduce systemic slavery. Slavery is far older than the UK.
@lydiaedwards81002 жыл бұрын
I think he is talking about the system of chattel slavery. Chattel slavery denies the humanity of slaves and offers no avenues for ascension from the position of slave. Throughout history, slavery has existed; but children of slaves weren't necessarily automatically slaves. People could earn their freedom and change their station in life because even though someone was a slave due to a particular circumstance, they were understood to be human beings. The UK was the first country to codify the lack of human rights for African slaves and mixed race people of African descent. Correct me if I am wrong, please.

The origin of the Arab-Israeli conflict isn't really easy to TLDR, but here it is: The Middle East is filled with Muslim Arab states that overwhelmingly didn't want a Jewish state to exist due to religious biases and they used the Palestinians as pawns in a war against Israel. This largely failed, but it caused enormous misery for the Palestinians, whose leaders refuse to let the conflict end because their primary source of wealth is syphoning aid money. This creates a cycle of misery, where Palestinian terrorists attack Israel, which results in retaliation from the far more lethal Israeli military. ...and here is a longer explanation: The Arabs conquered the ancestral homeland of the Jews from the Byzantines, who had been occupying them since the Roman Empire. Tons of Jews were displaced throughout both occupations, causing them to be spread across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Centuries passed and the Arab Empire fell, leading the Ottomans to take over the land, and then the British took control of it after the Ottomans fell. The British gave about 30% of the Palestinian Mandate back to the Jews, with the rest creating Jordan and the Palestinian territories, but the surrounding Arab nations (not the Palestinians) decided to invade 12 hours after the creation of Israel, because they thought that they could exterminate the Jews and take all of the land. They failed and were repelled, but took the land that would have created a Palestinian state (Egypt took Gaza and Jordan took the West Bank). In 1967 there was another war (Israel vs Egypt, Jordan, and Syria), sparked by the Egyptians blockading Israeli ships from the Straits of Hormuz and lining up tanks on the border, that resulted in massive land losses for the Arab Coalition--Egypt lost the entire Sinai and Jordan lost the West Bank--which resulted in Israel gaining control over Gaza and the West Bank. This caused Israel to gain control over the Palestinian territories, but made negotiations difficult because there was no official government at the time. In 1973, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and a number of other supporting nations invaded Israel again, but were absolutely decimated, but this ironically led to several peace deals with Jordan and Egypt, which was given back the Sinai that they lost 6 years earlier. Unfortunately, throughout this entire situation, the Palestinians who weren't within the Israeli borders in 1948 (and thus became Israeli Arabs) got pretty badly screwed. They were forced into refugee camps by Jordan, Egypt, and Syria to sustain a causus belli against Israel from 1948-1967, and then have had a string of kleptocratic fascist leaders in the years since who refuse to make any peace deal and steal a huge percentage of the aid. They also fire thousands of rockets into Israel, which prompts missile strikes against launchers, which are typically placed in civilian areas. Fortunately, the actual death tolls aren't that high in comparison with other conflicts in the region (5,000 in the last 22 years, compared with 350,000 in Syria in the last 10 years), but the property damage these retaliatory strikes cause is huge. In 2005, Israel left Gaza completely, giving them full autonomy. They had an election that saw Hamas come into power, but this immediately led to a civil war where Hamas killed their political opposition in Fatah, and canceled all future elections. Then, they started firing missiles across the border, which led to retaliatory strikes and the imposition of a blockade on weapons and other materials that can be used militarily, which is in place today. Conversely, the West Bank is ruled by the PA, which, like Hamas in Gaza, was elected in 2005 but canceled all future elections. The PA and Hamas hate each other and refuse to cooperate on most things, so there isn't a unified Palestinian government--rather, they are two warring factions that would happily kill the other, separated geographically by Israel.

Brought to you by the US of A.) stomping on basic human rights of its own populace (NSA anyone ? the "freedom" country first denying that it's watching it's populace for no reason You know, like China... Then after Snowden making it legal to watch anyone without any suspicion fo wrongdoing... ) And let's add the most corrupt political system on Earth that's treating its own citizens worse than north korea. Starvation in America starts to be bigger issue than in Africa. Mass homelessness, failing healthcare system, pushing its population into huge debt that they won't ever be able to escape, all while brainwashing said population to believe that they live in a free country. Chinese politicans only dream about the amount of opression, control and propaganda that the US does on a daily basis.
