You missed an important part of the story. The Danish guy kidnapped with Jessica was also rescued. He later stated that he was lucky to be kidnapped with an American because the Americans search for their citizens. If he had been kidnapped with anyone else, he still would be held captive in Africa.

Such a great story. You’re right Kabir, it would make a good movie. Like Captain Phillips (movie of the same name) who was kidnapped by Somalis from a freight ship. They’re looking for money. If you get kidnapped the Danish is lucky to be with the American! Former operator here not tier 1 more like a 2 but this story makes me happy. You will never know who they were because of security to their own families.
@daricetaylor7379 күн бұрын
Navy seals never disclose who they are. There are many occupations in the military where anonymity is an absolute requirement. Their own family members don't know exactly what they do for the military. I have a relative, I cannot say who, that was a Master Sergeant in the US military. As a family, that was all we knew. After my sister and he married, he wanted to retire but his "bosses" put a freeze on it and he was forced to continue working until the end of the gulf war. Only then was it shared with us that he was "the person" that studied aerial pictures of the war region and it was his job to identify all enemy targets. He would identify tank tracks, roads and bridges that were strategic for the enemies use, possible bunkers, storage facilities, etc......he would present them to the head officers and would recommend which targets were ideal to "take out". Since his retirement all we know about his current job is he works for Ratheon weapons manufacturer in a building you are not allowed to enter, with no windows and guards stationed at every door and your car gets searched top to bottom before you are let enter the parking lot. His main "client" is their largest purchaser of goods.

@greggwilliamson I would never go there, but u can appreciate & stand in awe of how aid workers go to such places. Talk about a different mind set, to love & care about your fellow human beings so much that you risk torture & death. No love that is greater. The vid that is being presented in a much shortened version. In the longer it does say that her husband is involved in humanitarian work, also. It also has a bit about her returning to see her father (a recent widower). It was so touching, she apologized, asking his forgiveness repeatedly, for the kidnapping causing him so much pain.

Stop with the bull, Trump got multiple American hostages and prisoners brought home. I am honest enough to say that though I don’t like Obama, I was proud of him for this rescue. It was not the only instance that I was proud of him, though the times were few. But when they are spoken of I express the fact that he did well. I never liked him, don’t care about his race, his race doesn’t run the government, and neither does anyone else’s. If you wait to get my vote based on race, you will be waiting forever. If you do a good job on something I will express that. If I know for a fact that something that’s being reported about you is not true I will voice that as well. Have done so for multiple Democrats and Republicans that I both agree and disagree with.
