The Americans were the ones who kept asking the British if they could use their colonies to perform operations during this time, yet whenever the British tried to do literally anything the Americans always interfered and messed things up. Not saying that the colonies were a good thing, god no they were horrible affronts to both legal and moral standards, but a large reason the British Empire fell was intentional and unintentional American sabotage.

@@funtimeflorian1643 The word "football" actually originates from that fact that you play it *ON* foot, not *WITH* your foot. It has that name to distinguish it from other sports like polo which are played on horseback. Also, the word "football" by itself actually refers to a whole family of sports, not a single sport. Just like "hockey" can mean either field hockey, ice hockey, or roller hockey, "football" can also mean a lot of different things. Historically, the word has been used to refer to association football (soccer), rugby league football (league), rugby union football (rugby), gridiron football (American football), Australian rules football (footie), Gaelic football (Gaelic) and many others.
@Ruminations098 ай бұрын
@@Oneandonly1225 I was over simplifying a bit - the full definition of football-sports are any sports played on a grassy field on foot with the goal of transporting an object-ball to the other end. Neither volleyball not basketball are played on a field. Volleyball falls into the category of "net sports," which are defined by the fact that they're played with the opposition divided by a net that they rally an object over. Basketball is a more unique sport, so it isn't part of a larger category of sports. It's not considered a football sport because despite being played on foot, it's not played on a field. And it's not considered a net sport because despite having nets, they don't separate the teams.

@AlashiaTuol2 жыл бұрын
@@larshofler8298 Well, the US was the first large scale democracy since Rome. It doesn't seem that revolutionary now because, in the way of superpowers in the modern age of globalization, its culture has washed over a lot of the world by way of its merchants and ambassadors, including over the UK, which has itself changed its attitudes towards government in the meantime. Also, time has changed both countries away from the circumstances they were in after the revolution. The actual differences are manyfold but in many areas of life, so it'd take a more complex discussion. But when the revolution first occurred? The difference in the way of life for those who lived in the former colonies was huge. As for "new," I'm a bit confused as to why that's the focus. Plenty of things were different; the point of a revolution is change, after all. The only "new" thing the revolution sought to create was a new government, which still exists and is *very* different from the UK's. But regardless, the point is, the tea sender is now irrelevant and the world has proven it doesn't need them.

There's a science behind the creation of countries and why countries leave. It has a lot to do with diversity, groups that aren't represented will typically branch off into their own in-group and eventually try to square off some territory for their own interests. Countries like great Britain and the Ottoman empire fell apart due to stress applied to their territories which were largely occupied by unrepresented minority groups.

@@Aurora-oe2qp from a colonial perspective the US was much better than the UK, the British did not have segregation in the home country but de facto enforced it through restricting the rights of citizens of the non-dominion colonies.
