She only confessed to the two other murders 20 years later after Ian Brady confessed first, if she had really changed she would of came forward sooner and on her own and not to benefit herself for parole. She also never told the location of Keith Bennetts grave to his family she took that to hers. And if she was "changed" and truly sorry for what she had done she would of accepted her sentence!

@velveteyes79 I didnt know that Hindley showed remorse. I heard that she had become a Christian convert,but not that she had written to the victims parents. I agree some sort of resolution is needed in the lives of the families. Another example is the mother of Jamie Bulger,who still cannot accept that those boys were very troubled children at the time of the murder,so shouldnt have been given a whole life term.Its difficult,because nobody knows how they would react in that situation unless it happened to them.

I've often wondered how authorities would react, as I've also thought about going to Saddleworth Moors and digging for little Keith myself. That of course is if little Keith was buried there, something could have happened resulting in Keith's body being placed elsewhere or something.

I am so tired of hearing people say Myra wouldn't have done it if she hadn't met Ian Brady. Well I have to say I knew Hindley well in the 70's when I was a Prison Officer. She was sly, manipulative, and probably the most vile person. She walked around that wing in the prison as if she was Queen Bee. Some say that once she was separated from Brady, Myra became her old self. I saw how Myra behaved. She was very vicious, although she didn't actually attack anyone who upset her, you can bet that person would suddenly get beaten up. In my opinion regardless of the bleeding hearts she was worse than Brady

Actions are put in motion by authorise immediately as well. The 48h factors only indicates statistical crime data on the majority of MPs in the UK, who are often safely return within that period. Hardly matters how much we learn about the effects of a horrible childhood on the adult they become... nor does understanding mental illness... if there is no one that does anything about it the outcome will then always be the same... we have to 1. Focus more on rehabilitation then revenge when dealing with non violent victimless crime 2. Focus more on children that pass through family court . 3. Focus more on mental illness healthcare..... we found out the awful things happening in mental institutions and they just all shut down as if people no longer needed treatment.... instead of facilities doing better they just shut down which says a lot about those running them!

Winnie Johnson the mother of Keith Bennett passed away in 2012. She faced Brady starve himself so he could die and promised to tell her where her son was buried. She died in 2012 without ever finding her son. She was well known and loved around gorton. The search for her son was called off in 2009. She tried to raise money to open the search again but didn’t pan out. RIP angel ❤️

Remember that Hindley didn't just lure them and then stand back. She stabbed Pauline Reade, although she struggled, before Brady then stuck the final blow and stabbed the poor girl in the neck . Brady also claimed that Hindley was the one who actually strangled Lesley Anne Downey, so she was very much a complicit murderer, not just a passive accomplice.

We simply don't know the precise details of each murder except the final one of Evans. I don't think anyone ever claimed Hindley stabbed Reade . It is established that Brady slit her throat twice , that is all. Regarding Downey , Hindley in her confession said Brady killed her . Brady later said it was Hindley who strangled her. Both were motivated to tell lies - Hindley to perhaps eventually gain her freedom , and Brady just out of spite to deny her that freedom and retain control of the narrative.

I'm a Christian and think it's great when someone comes to faith in prison however this should have NOTHING to do with their release. In fact, I'm of the opinion that if one comes to faith in Christ while behind bars, one should say "No, I did wrong and I deserve to be in here because it's my punishment". If you want to serve God, you can do that in prison with your fellow inmates. Not push for a release. If you're truly sorry for your crimes then you should understand and accept your punishment.

Its interesting however because we have had many more here in the UK since they were caught, the 2 serial killers in the video are from the 60s and although the serial killers since are not as popular, they were just as bad and no one seems to be any closer after almost 60 years to prevent a single one. You can't stop anyone from doing anything and blaming the tools they use as an excuse for their actions is lazy, irresponsible and trying to make out they are somehow not as much responsible for their actions. Its actually disturbing that anyone would blame the tools and not the person committing crimes. Bad people don't stop doing bad things, they just find different ways to commit their crimes. Some people don’t actually believe that their choices are made outside the scope of cause-and-effect. In the classic Nature or Nurture debate, nobody ever seems to argue for "neither" because everything we do is implicitly understood to be based on antecedent causes. People will object to this, but when asked why they did something, they’re stuck in a corner. They can say it was random, but that’s not free will. Alternatively, they can say, "I did it because…" and fill in the blank. That’s fine, but whatever reason they give will be an example of causality, by definition. That’s the meaning of the word "because." It doesn’t even matter what they put at the end of the phrase - it’s still a cause. Saying "I did it just because I wanted to," or "I did it just because I chose to," doesn’t help. It only pushes the question back a step, without answering it. Why did they want to? Why did they choose to? Again, they can either claim it was random, or they can give a cause. But neither option offers free will. 2. Chemicals have unequivocal effects on our brains. If our decisions are not dependent on antecedent causes, then chemicals should not have any affect on them. This is obviously not a reflection of reality, but it’s the logical result of contra-causal free will. Drugs such as alcohol have a very noticeable effect on our cognitive abilities. For obvious reasons, some people don’t deny that this is true. But they also don’t explain why they believe that our decisions are subject to some physical causality (drugs), but not others (everything else in the world). Some people tend to get lost in abstract concepts like emotions and wills, and forget that they ultimately have to explain their theory in the concrete terms of electrochemistry and neurons. 3. The most compelling evidence for determinism is the consistency of chemistry in general. Chemicals reactions are unwavering in their predictability, both inside and outside of our bodies. Hydrocarbons don’t get to choose whether they’ll combust; enzymes don’t get to choose whether they’ll react with proteins; and our neurons don’t get to choose whether or not they’ll fire. This reactive predictability is not optional. Atomic causality is an axiom upon which the scientific method rests. If one can’t depend on effects to have causes, then epistemological uncertainty becomes an ironic guarantee. Nothing could truly be proved or disproved. Decisions develop. Our brains are uncontroversially in a state of constant feedback. Even when we logically believe that our brains are idle, they’re not. They’re always moving. They don’t even sleep the way we do. They’re as busy as ever, even when we’re out cold. This point is subtle, but it’s crucial: What we call ‘decisions’ are not discrete items that we’ve somehow produced with our ‘wills’. Neither of those things is objectively real. Do you blame the murderer as you believe they have free will? Or do you look for the actual causes and address those so others don't succumb to the same environmental/genetic predisposition triggers? It requires a combination of compassion, understanding, and critical thinking. Declaring someone to have free will simply requires someone to be emotionally influenced by what they've seen/heard. That is the opposite of what's required to improve the health and well being of the world.

Lesley Ann was born the same year as me, she was just 3 months younger, I lived in Lancashire, just below the Yorkshire Moors, there were posters everywhere of her, it changed all of the lives of me, my friends and my family, parents were terrified of us children playing out, walking to school or even going to the toffee shop. The freedom of us children to roam and play out all day was lost, the confidence of our parents that we would always come home had gone, lives were changed forever. I cannot imagine how those poor poor parents managed to exist for all those years with the intense pain that could never fade. Although ppl presume or wonder whether Myra was influenced to act, the facts are she had free will. Myra made a choice to intentionally, willfully, knowingly and deliberately participate in those atrocious crimes. The capacity for that depth of evil already existed within her Ian Bradley was merely a trigger. Had she lived a normal life gotten married and had children she probably would've killed her husband and children.

I find it very interesting that you claim that Myra wouldn't have killed anybody. Perhaps Ian Brady wouldn't have killed anybody if he hadn't met Myra.

if you look into their backgrounds you can see Ian was always destined to be a killer. It's kinda like how if Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold never met, Eric would have probably gone on to kill yet Dylan probably wouldn't

48 hours befote searching for a child what? I think either the cops are in on it or that killer chick was on their phone line telling them lies. Cuz that is way to long to wait before looking for a missing child. I think that would be the amount of time before searching for a missing adult.

Hindley may not have killed without Brady but the fact remains that with him she questioned nothing and had no qualms about the abductions, rapes and murders of all of those 5 victims, effectively ending the world's of their families forever. I hate the way David Smith is demonised in all this without him they would not have been caught. David did not murder anyone, Hindley and Brady did!!
