I feel like I’m going crazy as I’m not hearing the control or flawlessness that all these comments are alluding to. There were vocal problems and extensive tuning issues the entire song (as powerful as it is!). She is talented and she has a beautiful voice. And yes, it’s sad that another person got to be the face of her performance in the movie and on the soundtrack … but there may be a reason she doesn’t sing live often or have a huge career?!? This was not good. It’s okay to be a studio singer if that is where you can shine, the chance to do multiple takes to get the best product. Her voice wasp pretty perfect and GORGEOUS on the greatest showman recording! This live performance wasn’t it folks. I’m not sure if everyone is pulling for her due to the stuff with the movie or just the nature of this show wanting people to do well with their big moment, but this sadly was very messy. Too many added runs and ornaments on the note attacks and releases… probably to prove it’s her and she is even better than she showed on the soundtrack!, but that backfired. Keep it clean and pure, never add so much that you lose tonality, any ornaments and runs need to be pre-planned and practiced to the point of perfect execution. I’m a little disappointed, not going to lie. 😢
