British Airways A320: Aberdeen to London Heathrow with Beautiful Views over the City

This week I'm travelling back from Scotland on board British Airways again and another A320. I feel like I've been in Scotland quite a bit lately and I absolutely love it up there! Can't wait to get back and am already planning my next trip up to the west coast.
This trip was memorable for some fantastic views over the City of London on approach as I was (for once) sitting on the right side of the aircraft and we were landing in the right direction.

Nice Trip Report! Good to see things are starting to really improve and airports are now busier again. Hopefully this will be the end of restrictions and we can all get back to flying again with few restrictions! Keep up the great work! ✈️

Cheers AFUK. Yes, got another couple of short flights this weekend: MAN - NQY with Easyjet and back with Loganair on the ATR72. I reckon Newquay will be busy for a small airport, never been before so looking forward to it.

Great trip report Mark, really well edited and summed for a good pace. Lovely views too. You summed it up well at the end. - an standard BA flight but that feels a luxury at the moment. I think the misting up of the window is due to condensation that forms when you have your face pressed against the glass looking at such good views of London. 😉 Hope you have some more fun trips, I guess Portugal fell through?

Hi Peter, good to hear from you. Yes Portugal is postponed until October. I actually replaced it last minute with this trip up to Aberdeen as I was determined to go somewhere! But yes, two long haul trips with BA and Virgin/Delta scheduled for later this year looking unlikely too atm. Rubbish really, but I’ll try and stay optimistic for now. I’ll have to remember not to get too close to the window, thanks 😂

British Airways is quite good at what they do. I did love the footage of the flight landing. It was quite beautiful. I am trying to decide where I am travelling to on my first long haul trip after more than a year. It will be either Canada or Israel. Although from Heathrow Airport the flight to Israel is only four hours. "Interesting" and a little odd that your window fogged up. I don't know what that was? I am looking forward to your next video. '

Hey thanks Debra, good to hear from you again. Yes I’m thinking of Israel with BA actually for when my flight from Brussels to Miami inevitably doesn’t happen in September. I think BA are using 777’s and 787’s on that route atm. Next video will be Edinburgh to Aberdeen inc the AMAZING Forth Bridge. Cheers, Mark.

Yes I try that and then they end up landing in the other direction half the time 😂

@@LetsMakeaTrip I know what you mean. When Tegel airport used to be open I sat on the left side on landing because you had a nice view over Berlin. Most of my flights to TXL ended up landing the other direction. It was via Spandau and you didn't see the city. Hopefully I can fly from the new airport BER to LHR end of this year with BA. BA is one of my favourite airlines.

@@lindenbeck Yes I'd like to try the new airport out in Berlin. Next trip I have planned for Germany is to Dusseldorf with Eurowings and I'm heading down to Wuppertal to ride on the suspension railway (another trip that has been postponed for a while!).

How does the cost of flying from Aberdeen compare with that of the train?

Aberdeen to London you can get fairly cheaply with British Airways: around £38 one way showing up on their website atm. Obviously it's also a lot quicker though I think the train is a nice relaxing alternative if you have the time and if you have the money, the sleeper is a further option but quite a bit more expensive that one.
