Am on that route in 2 weeks,I was hoping you'd have footage of the BA lounge Btw most airlines in the oneworld alliance will not unfortunately interline baggage on seperate tickets anymore That retrograde change came in a few years ago

Oh really! I guess I've been too spoiled on star alliance who I usually use 😅 I do have footage of the BA lounge I just haven't edited it yet. I'll do my best to do it ASAP but I can say it's a nice lounge with the same style booze selection, good food and ample space (when I was there). @@Bestsaint unfortunately NO, but it was well ventilated and cool on both flights unlike on Swiss!!

I don't think the software and on-ground logistics allows for checking bags through on separate tickets.

Well basically it is 100% possible just not allowed or not promoted. A very good example from 2022 is I had a flight from mombasa to Frankfurt and a separate flight from Frankfurt to zurich. At the Airport mombasa it was absolutely no problem to get the bags sent through to zurich and it took them 2 mins to do. So capabilities are there!

Ok then I should look more into the rules and now I am aware of BAs. It might not be very recently but I was definitely able to check my bags through with ethiopian airlines and also with swiss multiple times even when I had a long award flight paired with a paid cash flight. I was able to do this at the airport in kenya multiple times and in Austria once. But it has been a while, maybe even before covid

@@doolyb As long as all your transit flights are on one ticket, all airline can check it through regardless if you transit from airline "A" to airline "B". Airlines that check you through to your final destination when you purchase separate tickets may have broken the rules.

@@michaelchin3734 thanks for the explanation! I will definitely curb my expectations from now on. Kenya is a place known for bending rules so as most of my experiences were from there perhaps I was just charming enough each time I asked 😅👍
