British army Gore-Tex bivvy bag Wild camping in Rain Wind on a big hill Via Avebury Stone Circle Orb

I was bored however i do run and walk most days normally around the same area so its good to get away. I do not film all my adventures some times is good to enjoy space and time travel with out cameras. But for you guys i made this wee film of me trying out a British army Gore-Tex bivvy bag for the first time. I headed for the highest hill in Wiltshire Via Avebury Stone circle i travelled though time and space past Wansdyke to a very high chalk hill. I found the Bivvi bag very water proof apart from the head area as i guess this is with all bivvi bags maybe? I would think. I enjoyed using the British army Gore-Tex bivvy bag. My sleeping bag did keep mostly dry.
The Adventure food mince beef hotpot was nice but not by far the best outdoor food i have tried.

Best Bivvibag you ever buy and cheap had mine years and never let me down, use mine with Dpm basha all u need any weather, tie length paracord on end of original cord and pull through will sort sinching problem out then it pulls nicely round your sleeping bag without feeling cloustraphobic, be careful putting another bivibag inside it cus will cause condensation in colder weather, better using bag liner or warmer bag👍

I glad I took the advice of a fair few people recommend the army bivvi to me. It's a nice a size altho Im not tall and I don't mind storing my bags on the outside in thick bin bags. But I can see the extra space will come in handy at some point. I was very impressed with it. Even think of doing a one night winter camp in it in the lake District. Night take tent as back up. You should I wish started using a Bivvi years ago. I might even do a winter one. Although last two nights I been camping out in amber storm warning was a bit mad I took the tent for that. Richard

Hi.. you can always use your army bivvy upside down and pull the top out and rig it up to be a small porch. It will keep the rain off your head and allow you to breathe. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and be lucky.

is this the best bivvy? never camped before and looking for something simple that can be moved around with ease (not a tent with 300 poles) so i think this bivvy bag is the way to go. any advice?

I am no expert on Bivvys but i have tested this one with a hosepipe and my sleeping bag stayed dry. I would say if you know the weather going be bad like windy wet i take a tent but if weather ok take a bivvy

Mark I think found new love for camping in the bivvi and think all the amazing night skys I missed out on. I even thinking doing a winter one in the lake District. Only thing stopping me in past was most my warm winter gear falling apart but just got some new warm thermals should be ok for a serious cold night now. I noticed that I said highest hill what I was supposed say was the second highest chalk hill in the UK . It's also supposed be one most spiritual areas of the UK what with lot orbs flying around spotted in the area as well. Not really local to me but very cheap to get to by stagecoach so often go there :) i hope your alright mate. All best Richard

My dear brother Paul did a camp there and meditated with each stone. He said whilst doing so a big light with like gossamer threads cane out of his solar plexus and connected with one of the stones. Awesome. Well, good going. Me though? Getting on. Just finished the Wye Valley walk - 136 miles. I had a really cool time. Peace!

You can use them upside down a support the hood to act as a mini tent in bad weather

@@4seasonbackpacking honestly the british army bivvy is with me wherever I go. I used mine with a cheap tesco sleeping bag at ➖ 2 on the top of kinder Scout and i was snug as a bug

Get a small 2.8x1.5 dd tarp to create an a frame shelter above bivvi, much nicer.
