It's a great story. It has highs and lows. Tears and laughter. Truly awe-inspiring on a epic scale. They should show this in schools before every lesson.

The above report creates confusion by omitting a crucial piece of info in the story published by the British Army on Cpl. Adams's accomplishment, namely: "The Royal Engineer of the Year accolade is awarded to any soldier serving in the Royal Engineers, Royal Corps of Signals and The Corps of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers who has a professional engineering registration and has best applied professional engineering judgment or technical innovation to contribute to the maintenance of military capability or effectiveness." That is how Cpl. Pa Malick Adams, a member of the Royal Corps of Signals can be Royal Engineer of the Year.

Bit of a kick in teeth as sappers work hard for title, far harder than any scaley back, but thanks for that, I still stand by this channel getting blatant detail incorrect

The Royal Corps of Signals and The Corps of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers are "children" of the Corps of Royal Engineers, as is the Royal Air Force (via the Royal Flying Corps and its predecessor the Air Battalion, Royal Engineers)

Amazing achievement hats off to this gentleman but how is it a REME award when he's signals?
@meme4one Жыл бұрын
Royal engineer award would surely be a Royal Engineers award anyway.
@thetruthhurts7675 Жыл бұрын
The answer is it is a BRITISH Army award for the best engineer in the following three army services :- Royal Engineers, Royal Corps of Signals, and the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. The recipient also has to have an engineering registration. IE a regarded in the forces engineering qualification!

Didn’t know ROYAL ENGINEERS now wear Royal Signals uniform, how many times will you say or post these massive mistakes, are you sure you are ex forces, maybe cadets or cubs
@markdaniels2200 Жыл бұрын
They aren’t & they don’t. Apprentice Signals used to be trained at either Arborfield or Catterick, REME at Catterick & Royal Engineer apprentices at Chepstow Army Apprentice College…. Think they have now been moved due to military cut backs….

How is SIGNALLER the Royal ENGINEER of the year? 😂
@markdaniels2200 Жыл бұрын
Because the people doing the interview don’t seem to know that the army has specialist engineers in many disciplines… He may be an IT Engineer in the Royal Signals, but he is not a a”Royal Engineer”….
