British Battleship "Conqueror" Review - World of Warships Blitz

Right, this is going to be a quick one - is the Conqueror any less dreadful after the buffs she's received in the 6.1 update? Probably not, but I'm willing to give it a quick try. Don't expect too much.

Maybe re-review Thunderer as well! I think it’s just an out right better ship than the Conquerer, and maybe the IFHE makes sense there

Raw fire power is about the only thing conqueror does well and that's only because of the rapid reload. Spread the word. Terry #buffconqueror

Terry by definition I do not belong into the free to play group but I still cannot recommend the higher tiers in this line at all 😅. This ship was my first t10 battleship and was my 2nd t10 ship after the worcester. I started grinding for her way back there as soon as the entire line was made available, and I have literally everything to max out this ship. Still I can not recommend the higher tiers in this line at all. The Monarch was the best ship in this line for me, and looking in hindsight I should have forgotten the image I got from my pc conqueror altogether and should have stopped at t8. There are obvious, better choices in t10 if one wants enjoyable battleships in wowsb; and as always I still want to say that ported ships that lack their proprietary mechanics from the pc version in general usually have lackluster performance in wowsb, Terry.

My understanding of PC is somewhat limited to what I'm seeing from KZbin, but the British "super heal / printing a new ship" has been completely removed, and the lack of armour angling mechanics makes HE a lot less attractive imo. This leaves the RN BBs in a weird spot, and to a degree, I've tried recreating their strength with the HP tank build.

Great video 👍☺️ I really enjoyed the video 😄😄 I'm also playing with Conqueror... she has trash armour ( worst SURVIVABILITY, Manoeuverability) , Avg. AA. , Seeing this buffs came but they don't do good .. I've seen your video with KGV ..it was really good! And in my opinion these buffs do good only up ti tier 7 higher tiers just suck like ever before.. every time I play with conqueror my teammates rush and get deleted then I play alone...or else every enemy team mate targets the conqueror first 😄😄 its irritating that she doesn't take hits well... getting CITADELLED BY CRUISERS or GERMAN AP BOMBS ...Y ? She burns also very well 🤣🤣 ... seeing this y don't those DEVELOPERS consider these poor things things? Then why did they release this line? All this makes me really frustrating to play...due to this I've pushed to other nation ships ( Iowa, lepanto, Zeiten ) I really likes playing with them.. but I JUST LOVE THE SIGHT OF BURNING DOWN THE BEEFIEST SHIPS ( KREMLINS, SLAVAS , VERMONTS , GK, YAMATOS ) These burn a very well even without IFHE 😂😂😂😂😂 please developers please buff these poor things this applies to British heavy cruisers too!

I don't know if there's still another buff coming for the British BBs, or if this was it. I know there are people who love them, and can do great, more power to them, but I think for the general population, I'd rank them at best average still.

I have an idea it would not be nice but please hear this...if developers remove monarch.. and replaced by lion and lion replaced by conqueror and Conqueror replaced by thunderer would it be nice? Wait until British Battlecruisers. Im really worried about the armor on those things. According to PC Version, they have great HE and rather large guns with low surface detection. They would balance the main line right? Like with the Germans?

I do have the Rooke for PC. Renown was fun, but with Rooke, I struggle. Anyways, I do believe that the British battlecruisers will have CL armor (British CL armor). In PC, they can be overmatched by anything, and farmed, and it doesn't help that you get into Tier IX games. I'm certain they will get good concealment, and of course big guns. Those things will get farmed a lot here as they do in PC.

@@FunandGameswithTerry I agree. Maybe they will get very good accuracy (I doubt that but fingers crossed). I did forget about the torpedoes they have, but it's gonna be very few. The thing I like about the torpedoes on the BC line in PC is the fact that they do good damage. I did get a Devastating Strike with them on a Renown to another battleship. They might be similar in damage here with maybe Japanese torpedo damage, or maybe even deep water torpedo damage. AP most likely is going to be standard British AP

Hi Terry, thanks for another great video. I don't completely agree. I find conqueror is a damage monster. Always loved it, and recent buffs have only polished it a bit. Just taken mine out and bagged MVP, two player DDs and a colbert. I'm mostly free to play so don't have a legendary captain, but the L12 I have on conqueror is set up for damage output, not tanking. True, there's the odd bad battle when a shima gets the torps in unexpectedly, but I generally rack up 100k+ damage. It's easy to get a triple perma and follow up with a couple of citadels. My lion captain on the other hand is purely a tank build. He tends to guest sail on Nelson and Vanguard, while conqueror captain visits Warspite and Repulse. Any chance you could do a video comparing merits of captain builds btw? I would like better manoeuvrability, so perhaps the legendary module which I don't have is worth it. 250k fxp....

Aww fiddle sticks! I've put off t10 for sooo long and had the situation of going for Duncan at t9 which I'd have preferred due to skill level or not pass up Conqueror again so... I sought advice from wowsb Facebook page and everyone went for Conqueror and that's what I did. Fast forward to now and I decided to see what trusty Terry makes of her... Imagine my little face all full of hope and wonder at the prospect of Terry's sage advice, then I seen the intro... My heart sank 😢 I wonder if royal mail will pick it up from the centre of the earth? Why does wows hate us Brits so much?😅

Aww sorry mate! You can have decent games in a Conqueror, but it's ... kinda not the greatest ship imo. I'm personally really miffed that WG has chosen to give the RN BBs "weak armour" as a game theme, given that they usually had a pretty high quality of steel, and were some of the more prolific BBs when it came to actually doing things other than shore bombardment. Although, at least since the last buff, it's not really that bad anymore, merely mostly mediocre... which, after the excellent KGV and decent Monarch, is a disappointment. I'll have to revisit St. Vincent, actually, since they fixed the turret bug, I might have some fun with that one.

I've actually had some pretty decent games with her, getting focused by a certain overpowered carrier means swift deletion though, whomever has FDR must be having a right laugh at the moment. Also I've noticed there's some cruisers and destroyers with some frightening deep water torp capability, far too fast for me to dodge as she handles like a wardrobe without the special traverse. Ah yes the good old turret glitch, it will be interesting to see how much difference it will make now it's sorted as St Vincent is now my main focus! I hope you and yours have a great Christmas! and all the very best of British for the new year! ✌️

The key to British BBs is actually the AP. To much reliance on HE leads to failure in the line. Grandad from NA (One of the best conquerer players I know of) pretty much uses AP 95% of the time unless someone happened to damage control. The British bb main line is very deceiving making people think its 50% HE and 50% AP, when its pretty much only AP that can do anything. But this is for the Conq. This whole concept is the other way around with Thunderer

You might Already know this on other ships but i Recommend using Manual-Aim at Close range 8kms and below

I average 68% wins and 88k damage in conqueror with 1600 battles. You're building and playing it wrong. Most battleships on t10 i average 55% wins. Remove nelson. Build for rapid reload with HEIF. Nelson's 22% actually over pens with HE and I end up getting a lot of hits with ¼ damage. Hunt destroyers and light cruisers and exploit damage control cool down against enemy players. I often find myself targeted 2 bbs at once and alternating salvos to exploit damage control.

Yeah. They dropped a big poopoo with the high tier British battleships in Blitz. On PC you can at least blep people who try to bow tank you with sheer fire damage and abuse of overmatch mechanics. No such fun to be had in Blitz unfortunately
