yeah that's right mostly pakistani people use this technique of using english alphabets to write urdu while texting. but when it comes to write something in urdu we use proper urdu alphabets. writing urdu with english alphabets mostly use while texting.

It's very unfortunate actually that we are slow in typing in Urdu. That's why we use English alphabets to communicate in Urdu. That's called roman Urdu.

I think the one who wrote the subtitles just tried to had a fun because majority of people here spell English words exactly the same way they are, there are a few who don't understand it well but we write it like this "Superstar" 🤣

We usually type with english alphabets when texting or on social media etc cause its just quick. But also brvause in south asia we have many langauges. Many different scripts. For example hindi speakers and urdu speakers can communicate with no problem as the langauges are very similar but the written form/script is different so we type it romanised so everyone can read it. Also im sure you are aware of the british colonisation. The colonial past of the subcontinent which made people think english is the more educated langauge and in India and Pakistan english is one of the official langauges so people can speak english well and type it so typing urdu with the english alphabet is easy. Also people born abroad may not have studied the scripts so they also type in the romanised way

By writing in Roman Urdu u can add up 600 million people from Hindi Belt of India to understand it as both Urdu Hindi are mutually understandable but with different scripts..

it's written in roman Urdu cause there are others like Indians who do understand Urdu but can't read written Urdu for they have their own Hindi writing which is totally different from Urdu writing. Hope this answers your question.

nah we dont write urdu in english alphabets its grammatically incorrect but while texting we write urdu words in like english alphabets cuz urdu keyboards are tough and you have to download them on some phones yk

Another reason for writing Urdu in English alphabets is to make other sub continent countries who understand listening to Urdu but can not understand the text in Urdu, like India and Bangladesh, to easily understand it

Actually Urdu is written in PersioArabic script. Roman Urdu is written on social media stuff where we are used to woth QWERTY Keyboard.. and Roman Urdu spellings are never the same of two people.. you can spell it the way you want untill it is pronounced the same.. Actual spellings will always be in PersioArabic script.. Secondly the language Hindi is same as Urdu so you can say that this language is written in Devnagri script as well.. One more thing this song was not just Urdu or English song.. it had Punjabi main lines as well.. "Na Rok Menu" is Punjabi.. which is again written in 2 main (PersioArabic and Girmukhi) and one roman scripts.. lol.. And I'm the one who knows all scripts of both languages.. 😂 Roman Urdu started with Keyboards and Keypads.. nowadays Urdu keyboards are very common and majority of people write Urdu in Persio Arabic srcipts even on social media.. so do i..

Everyone, youngsters... and even ads, we mostly write Urdu using English letters. We call this 'Roman Urdu'. Only when it's really needed do we switch to Urdu script. Otherwise, it's all Roman Urdu everywhere.
