The British Bulldogs won the wwf tag titles back in '86. Davey's partner was "The Dynamite Kid" (Tom Billington), considered to be one of the greatest / most influential wrestlers of all time. Smith died of a heart attack in 2002 (heavy use of anabolics & HGH), and Billington died in 2018 after a long illness - his body gradually broke down from all the wear & tear over the years - he would often use "the flying headbutt" as a finishing move, which would lead to spinal problems, concussions, etc.

I remember the British Bulldog more as a 90s Wrestler. He may have been popular from ‘85 - ‘89, however, those were my obsession years with the WWF when I’d beg my Mom to buy the magazines and looked forward to Wrestlemania like fans of the tv show, “Dallas” looking forward to finding out who shot J.R., and I don’t remember British Bulldog being that popular from ‘85 - ‘89, at least not to the level of Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Big John Stud, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, “Ravishing Rick Rude”, Sargent Slaughter, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Tiger Mask, Bob Backlund, Curt Hennig, Brett “The Hitman” Heart, George “The Animal” Steele, Randy Savage, The Iron Sheik, etc.
