I met Davey Boy Smith a few times. I remember seeing him after Summer Slam 1995 in which he took the time to talk with me. I’d asked Davey how he responded when people claimed that wrestling was fake. He said, “I tell them, ‘Get in the ring and I’ll show you how fake it is!’” I didn’t know about what was happening “behind closed doors” but now thinking about his response to the question, there was a lot more to it than I realized. Rest in peace, Davey Boy Smith…thanks for the memories.

His sister had terminal cancer, so Davey dedicated the match to her on British television because he had been told beforehand that he would be winning. Was fighting with blokes in there 30's sometimes 40's from being 14 years old and being almost 6ft tall and 15st at 14 years of age! Did not help knocking about with older lads that was left school! Having too fight a lot learned me bulk was not answer was being fast fit and being able too recover fast if you are hurt!! Steroids don't help cardio or speed at all!! You are not supposed too raise your heart rate on roids as will enlarge your heart and possibly put fluid in the muscle tissue of your heart! Anyway all older lads who was trying too get me on roids with them have some sort of problem from the steroids!! I beat them all when they started playing funny buggers with roid rages in full effect ha ha! Regardless of there size they all gassed when I literally took it easy on them!! Mind I used to go too the body like no one's business back in the day! Piss week now due too life changing injures but still good enough too sort out the pretenders! I'm so surprised any of the wrestlers of my childhood are still going as steroids abuse was insane they was all at it! The high intensity of the wrestling whilst full of steroids must have killed off and caused so many heart problems and heart failure it's almost unthinkable how they got away with it! So many people abuse them still too this day knowing fine well that they are playing Russian roulette! Cardio is always key your body will only go as big as its supposed too and don't train for bulk train for fitness strengh and conditioning stuff size as chasing bulk is what will kill you!

The Harts understood the business behind wrestling (ie copyrights and ownership over their moves and career decisions). This is why it was hard for the wrestling administration to get over on them. Yesterday my wife rang me and said she bought a strange pair of trousers from a charity shop, thinking they belonged to a wrestler. They are davey boys wrestling trunks, no idea where to sell them or get them authenticated though. £20 for a piece of wrestling history is quality

Tom was an incredible wrestler but a really horrible human being. Broke the legs of a girl so their parents could claim insurance, pulled a gun on his wife and threatened to kill her and the kids, bullied and ridiculed people, drugged people and intentionally hurt people in the ring.

Yeah, I heard the same thing. He was a horrible human being. For him it didn't end well he ended up in a wheelchair. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

The parents were no better ,if they were prepared to let someone break their daughters legs for insurance money.

I wish there was a tablet that last a certain amount time for non addicts to try and go through what addicts go through but don't know how long it last. Yeah addicts do choose to do whatever their drug of choice is but WOW I didn't know my drug of choice couldn't live without me..... been clean now since November 2022.

Davey Boy Smith should have been the WWF (E) Champion on quite a few occasions.

I'll say this. Many of those guys were crazy and had all sorts of issues. But I remember they gave their lives to entertain us when we were children and I remember the British Bulldog and he was amazing. It moves me when I think about them, how many of them like Davey Boy Smitth died so young. May they rest in peace.
