I love hearing the arrogance decline as Europeans react to American videos. Media shows the extremes of America so often that people think it’s the norm. There’s nothing entertaining about “My 200 pound life” or “ 20 minutes of people naming countries”. It’s like they take “the joke” seriously.

Regarding obesity, you have a comparison of people in the UK that they see in real life vs individuals from US reality shows about people who are extremely overweight. Every country has those that weigh too much and those that are unhealthily thin. You should have fewer firm opinions if you've never lived in the US.

Y'all are so misinformed. The Uk is only 8% behind America in it's obesity rate...36% to 28%. Which means y'all are catching fast, up considering your population is much smaller. Secondly, you fail to acknowledge the wealth gap or socioeconomics in the States, which is a major factor in determining someone's weight. Because of what they eat or lack thereof. If you are poor, then you will not readily have access to healthier more costly food choices. And being overweight isn't necessarily about overeating ( portion size). It could come from actually undereating and having poor diets...i.e. lack of accessibility.

Most of the people that carry guns on them, or have them in a gunrack in their truck are rural people, mountain men, ranchers, hunters etc. The vast majority of us are *not* NRA nutcases, and in many places, we don't lock our homes or cars, and have little to no crime. Yes but the 80% of us who live in cities generally choose not to exercise our 2A rights. I personally have not touched a firearm since I got out of the Navy in 2003. I have zero reason to touch one. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (grew up here, share the values). It's stupid that the Supreme Court took away the right of counties to be "may issue", because that's a MAJOR cultural difference. It should be obvious that people in the City of Houston are not as interested in allowing open carry, or CC without a license, as the people out in the countryside hundreds of miles from the nearest major city in Texas, yes? So why can't We the People of Houston say "here in Houston, it's may issue for CCW. We don't care about other counties, they can do shall issue if they want, but here, it's may issue."??? Makes no sense that abortion would be state to state but counties aren't allowed to not give out CCWs.
@brianphillips8228
@brianphillips8228 2 ай бұрын
we have a right to "keep and bear" arms. Whether you are open carrying or conceal carrying, that is "bearing" an arm. The Supreme court has, generally, been okay with one or the other being prohibited, but not both. Both being prohibited, would be unconstitutional. Allowing any local, state, or federal agency to reduce or ban a right specifically enumerated in the Constitution, allows all of them to ban any and all other rights. Regarding abortion, Roe vs Wade was a supreme court decision that said The federal government could prevent all states from banning abortion. This violated the 10th amendment to the constitution. The 10th Amendment says that any power that is not specifically enumerated in the U.S. constitution (abortion wasn't) was a power reserved to the state governments. State governments had already been exercising that power for many decades. Some banned abortion, some did not. Therefore, the most recent Supreme Court decision overturned the previous ruling in Roe vs Wade, clarifying that the decision had been wrong because it was a power not granted to the federal government that had already been exercised by the states. All the ruling did was return things to how they were. States can or cannot allow or ban abortions, the federal government cannot (without an amendment to the constitution). @@neutrino78x

@@brianphillips8228 "he Supreme court has, generally, been okay with one or the other being prohibited, but not both. Both being prohibited, would be unconstitutional." The areas with some sense aren't trying to do that. We are saying, yes you can carry concealed, but you need a permit. This is for public safety. Perhaps it's hard for you to understand that the culture in urban areas is different from the culture in rural areas. Hopefully Congress can fix. Only 42% of all homes in the USA have a firearm. "Regarding abortion, Roe vs Wade was a supreme court decision that said The federal government could prevent all states from banning abortion. This violated the 10th amendment to the constitution. " That's what the Court said recently, but they didn't say it violated the 10th at the time. So yes, if the federal government can't prevent all states from banning abortion, it follows that the federal government can't tell all states not to ban open carry and regulate concealed carry. Because of cultural differences, and what should be obvious differences in how safe it is for everyone to have a gun in an URBAN area as opposed to a rural one, this should be a right that communities have. You're trying to impose big government on women as well as local communities.

"Because of cultural differences, and what should be obvious differences in how safe it is for everyone to have a gun in an URBAN area as opposed to a rural one, this should be a right that communities have." The point of us seeking independence and creating the constitution that we have, was to prevent laws from constantly changing according to the present popular opinion. If we were to allow the right to keep and bear arms to be restricted in your community, the right for women to vote can be restricted in another. We created a clear distinction between a right and a privilege. A privilege requires permission, a right does not. After the civil war, the southern communities passed laws that infringed on the rights of freed slaves. It was parts of southern culture that blacks did not and should not have some rights, so they passed laws to enforce their culture, regardless of what the constitution said. The federal government passed laws allowing for the use of federal troops in the south to protect the rights of freed slaves, and capture or kill the oppressors. The "Posse Comitatus" act ended that. The adoption of the "Posse Comitatus" act, allowed parts of the southern culture to terrorise blacks for well over a century. Nothing was stopping different areas, with their different cultures, from violating the rights of blacks. That is an example of what can happen when different communities can claim different culture for justifying oppression. @@neutrino78x

I'm not trying to impose anything. There is supposed to be a big distinction between a right and a privilege. A privilege requires permission, a right does not. We, obviously, have a right to keep and bear arms. We, obviously, have not had a right to abortion. States, once again, are allowing their own citizens (not big brother federal government) to decide if abortion is legal in their state. The majority of voters concerned with this issue are women. Men generally don't vote on this issue. Women can, just as they did with voting rights, secure their right to abortion by getting an amendment to the U.S. constitution passed. Because this had never been done, and all laws regarding abortion were state laws, the Supreme Court HAD to rule as they did recently. Rights are not imposed on people that do not want them for themselves. Rights that are wanted by some are protected by the federal government from others that do not want you to have them. You want to restrict or ban the right of others to keep and bear arms. One persons right ENDS where another persons right begins. A persons right to keep and bear arms ends only where another persons right to not be shot begins. The right of you, or a community, or a state, or the federal government to regulate, restrict, or ban ends where my right to keep and bear arms begins. @@neutrino78x

I LOVE the way you are ATTEMPTING to explain guns, God blees you and I know you are trying to understand something that you can not possibly understand, BUT you had it right when you said that IF the government put out tomorrow, that every law abiding citizen was required to turn in their guns by such and such date and time, you are ABSOLUTELY correct, that we would have a brand new government in place BEFORE said date and time, and there is no better example of that then the LAST time someone tried to take our guns away from us, that someone was King George III, on April 19th of 1775, and look how that ended up! personally I have ALWAYS worn a gun on my body somewhere since the age of 21, and is absolutely normal for me, do I NEED to? well so far, I have only needed it 1 time, and I am glad that I had it, so I would say that no I do not NEED to, and I hope and pray that I will never again need to have it on my person, BUT I personally would always rather have it ready and NEVER EVER NEED it, than to NEED it 1 time, and not have it available to me. the second amendment to our constitution was put in there because WE THE PEOPLE, had just finished fighting a war with Britian and our founding fathers KNEW that we might have to do that again, so the RIGHT to keep and bear arms, was for WE THE PEOPLE, to protect ourselves from our own government should it ever become tyrannical. and it is called the Bill of RIGHTS, not the Bill of Needs, or Bill of I really want 1, or Bill of I would like to have, IT IS A RIGHT, 1 that will NEVER be taken away.

I’ll bet the United States has more fit people who are in shape and work out than the UK has people… if I’ve everyone wants to keep calling us fat, even though I’m not fat and am in great shape and always have been all they do is focus on the negative. So tired of it. The UK has plenty of fat people too by the way.

I found away around the bs I went to a tech high-school and learned machine tool and learned tool and die making. My foreign language was 2 years of trigonometry and 4 years of blue print reading. As for geography I can't name every country but I could off the top of my head list 125 plus of them. I can also name all 50 states about 40 presidents all 9 supreme court judges 50 plus congressmen and senators a few dozen foreign leaders. An detailed military history at levels far and beyond what the two of you know.

The answer to your question why Americans have the second amendment of the Consitution is due to England. The Founding Fathers that had come from the Tyranny of the English Crown, that was we fought the Revolutionary War against the UK. The second amendment reads as follows....... " A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the Right of the the People, to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. "

I've seen lots of videos where the Brits also struggle with geography.....there are dozens of countries in Europe, few are going to be able to label all of them correctly. Also "random person on the street" is usually not a good indicator of how educated people are. If you want someone to represent Britain in an interview to determine how much Brits know about the world, would you choose a guy from the countryside with a Cockney accent, or a Londoner who has an advanced degree from Oxford? Look at this way: of the top ten universities in the world, by academic reputation, six of them are in the USA, and all of those have low foreign enrollment.

Yeah, also sometimes the interview editors stitch together clips to make it sound like they're giving a stupid answer (one of them asked a guy what the "capital of Europe is" (dumb question already) and then made it seem like he said "Russia" with a clip of him from another question). Another person said they knew a content creator who would do those sort of American/Gen Z interviews and said it would sometimes take a while to get usable clips for a video

A couple of things: I'm asked to foreign language, most American schools even down to middle schools give children the option to learn a second language if they so choose in high school in college, most American teens decide whether they want to learn a foreign language based on what job they feel they're going to want to do. Also, it's based on the fact that we have a multicultural country there are people here living here from all over the world and some of them don't speak our language well so we may have to learn a little bit of their language to be able to communicate

I feel like Europeans think every American is walking around with a gun strapped to their belt. It is highly unlikely you would even see a gun when you come to the US. Most people I know do not even own a gun and there are restrictions in many states about carrying them. But yes we do have huge gun issues in the country and it can be scary in certain circumstances but I think it’s different than the image most people have in their heads. Also my school offered Spanish, French, German, and Latin and you got to choose which you wanted. A certain amount of semesters of language study are required. Being in California most people chose Spanish since more than a quarter of our population speaks Spanish.

The Second Ammendment of the US Constitution states- A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. I live in Rural East Texas and have 2 guns a 12 guage pump shotgun and a .22 caliber magnum revolver I dont walk around with them either. It takes over 10mins for law enforcement to reach my home. And that is if they just happen to be in the area. Here is a scenario for ya'll to discuse together. Ya'll are asleep in the middle of the night when you wake to a loud bang and a group of armed Meth Addicts are invading your home with intent to rob and do harm. What do you do keep in mind you have 30 seconds or less before they find you and God forbid your children, what do you do? Always remember this scenario when you question why we have guns in our homes.

So about the gun rights in America, Americans get defensive because guns are primarily used to defend. The main reason mass shootings are so prevalent on the news is because of agendas. But shootings in general show most common weapon used is pistols but they go after the AR-15. From experience in America you give those who want to take guns away an inch they take a mile and the only people these laws affect are law abiding citizen’s not criminals. And if people really want to hurt someone they’re gonna do it like the UKs knife control bs where they are trying to ban “zombie knives” these laws will never work they only hurt those that will follow them.

The concept "human rights" is actually a derivative and offspring of 1776 and our Constitution. But unlike the vague and flimsy notion of "human rights" our Bill of Rights and Constitution are specifically designed to Restrict, Restrain and Remove "government" from tyrannizing We The People. The Right of Self-Defense is a Right that comes from God, as we believe, and therefore cannot be legislated upon by Man. That's what we mean by the word Inalienable. And we mean the ability to defend ourselves against ALL forms of Tyranny, whether from a burglar, a rapist OR a would-be Tyrannical Government. Our Founders were quite explicit about all of this.

The guy on the video just said that mainly only police carry around guns, that would be incorrect! Many states on the East Coast are open carry meaning that you can actually carry a firearm on your head many are concealed carry, and if you have a permit for concealed carry, which means all you have to do is take concealed carry course, which is about eight hours on a weekend. You could carry a firearm underneath your jacket. All of this is totally legal, many people you don’t even know or caring. I open all the time.

No actually, England called it soccer first. Most high schools in America require at least a semester or more of a foreign language. Either Spanish, German or French with Spanish being the most useful as there are a lot of Spanish speaking people in the US and of course there is Mexico South of the US border. There are German and French communities in the US that still speak their native language going way back. Like in Louisiana there are quite a lot of people that speak French. And in Fredericksberg, Texas and other states there are people who still speak German. The US could definitely use better gun laws, you can blame our politicians for that one, but there is this quote...“We can never invade America,” Japanese Admiral Yamamoto has been quoted as saying. Yamamoto, who attended college in America, explained his logic this way: “There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” And he's correct. Having a gun is not "human right", it's an amendment. The 2nd Amendment. And the British are why we have it. A lot of these pre-conceived notions about America come from American TV shows and movies. When my husband and I were in Ireland years ago having some drinks at a pub the people there went on and on about the Jerry Springer Show. My husband and I have never watched it. They literally thought the people on the Jerry Springer Show were what all Americans were like. lol. And we're just sitting their questioning why they would watch that trash and recommending that they actually go visit America and see what it's really like. lol.
