American forces attack Russian forces would be a declaration of war. To avoid that American forces called Russia and told them to call back their mercanaries. Russia lied and claimed they had no affiliation with the mercenaries, in an attempt to maintain plausible deniability. That way Russia can claim they didn't order and attack on US forces, they were trying to claim it was some unaffiliated terrorists attacking the US forces. The US forces responded by saying something like, "if those aren't you're guys then you don't have a problem if we turn them into swiss cheese right?". Russia overestimated the strength of their mercenaries. Russia was forced into a position where they had to continue denying the Wagner group were acting on their orders or admit they ordered an act of war on the US. That's why Russian fighter planes wanted to take off, but Russian high command ordered them to stay on the ground. The cynical decision to abandon their mercenaries came down from high command to avoid starting a hot war with the US.

Pro-tip: If you have a hotline to a local US military headquarters to ensure your troops and the US troops don't start fighting... if that HQ calls you to ask if your troops are assaulting a particular location, just call it a mis-understanding and call your forces back immediately. If you lie and say "no"... just start the paperwork to request replacement troops and equipment, may as put the time to good use.

The funny thing is the Russians had air support on the deck not far away, but because F22's were in the area, they wouldn't allow the pilots to take off and engage..

Plausible deniability. Since the Wagner mercs weren't offically part of the Russian military, Moscow could send them to do dirty work that won't make Russia look bad if it failed. In this case they wanted to take that oil field and thought to send the mercenaries to take it instead of their own forces, just in case of what happened happened. They can then say that this massive blunder was the fault of unruly mercenaries instead of their "highly trained" Russian military.
@skyhawk_4526 Жыл бұрын
Par for the course in Mother Russia. Russians are expendable even to their own commanders and president. Human life means very little in Russia.

My husband just told me that the AC-130 is a NASTY plane (angel of death) in the way it flies around the target and attacks! It has a huge 105 mm Howitzer, Bofor cannon and several mini guns. The Howitzer is the crater maker and the mini guns basically acupuncture the ground every 2-3 inches. If you're there, good luck!

It's all propaganda. First, these were some mercenaries who worked for a rich man who was not connected to the Russian army. In addition to everything, you will not find a Russian who would speak in Russian the phrases that were translated, after that you can immediately see that everything is propaganda.

So basically 500 Syrian and Russian mercenaries along with roughly 30 Russian vehicles attacked the oil field with roughly 30-40 US Boots on the ground. The Syrian/Russian side lost nearly half of their forces within the first few minutes. In the end the Syrian/Russian side lost about 300 troop, pretty much all of their vehicles. Than to put extra embarrassing salt on their wounds. That side of the river Syrian higher up gave those remaining forces a metal for surviving the US assault. We only gave them a small tasing sample of what were capable of.

most people (especially enemies of the U.S.) don't realize how much surveillance the U.S. military does over war zones and 'hot spots', especially near U.S. military bases. our satellites can read the lettering on a postage stamp and drones can monitor BUGS in a field. so seeing a convoy of military vehicles is an immediate red flag and can be watched the instant they start moving. BUT the U.S. military will quietly monitor until the enemy starts firing, then the U.S. will unleash hell on them...

Nowadays, they are guys who were serving life sentences for rape, robbery and murder in Russian prisons. Wagner recruits them right from the prisons with the Kremlin's blessing. I was once told just before Russia invaded Ukraine that if the US ever faced the Russians, the US military would run in fear in the face of the mighty Russians. Well, we see that would not be the case at all. It would be the other way around. Wagner is one of Russia's top military units.

The US soldier's on the ground stated that if not for their air support and night vision they would have been stains on the ground. We can take the piss out of this engagement from a civilian point of view but the soldiers on the ground are just happy to be alive keep in mind these troops where incredibly small and only had lightly armoured vehicles against MBTs had the Air support not been able to respond it could have been completely different.

At 7:50 it mentions the B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber. This bomber has a max altitude of 50,000 ft or 15.2 km. After a certain altitude the bomber can reach transonic speeds. Or just above sub sonic but just below super sonic and can hold above 70,000 pounds of ordinance.
