There has been an on-going dispute between Georgia and Tennessee over Georgia's northern border. Basically, Georgia claims the actual boundary is further north to include part of the Tennessee River (so Georgia would have access to more drinking water). Tennessee has repeatedly laughed it off.

I'm from Maine. State bird = Chickadee. State tree = White Pine. State Flower = White Pine Cone and Tassel (Maine is referred to as the Pine Tree State). And I'll throw in that the State berry is the wild blueberry. I mention it because Maine produces somewhere around 98% of all wild blueberries in the US. If the US broke up into individual countries Maine would do one of a few things. 1. Individual state. 2. Might partner up with the rest of Northern New England which would mean partnering with New Hampshire and Vermont. 3. Another might be joining all of the other New England states to make one country so that would be Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island - this is probably the least likely of what Mainers would want to do as we are not particularly keen on southern New England in regards to some things. 4. I would say that since we are surrounded by Canada on three sides (the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec) and also only border one other state (New Hampshire) the possibility of becoming a province of Canada should be tossed in as well - fun fact Maine is the only state that borders exactly one other state - and have to say we kind of like that way. One factor in the Canada thing is how far east we are - we really should be in the Atlantic Time Zone (like Nova Scotia) not the Eastern US Time Zone. In the summer it's light at 4:00am and in the winter it gets dark at like 3:45pm. The western side of the same time zone has sunrise/sunset different by like an hour - so light at 5:00am in the summer and dark at 5:00pm in the winter. Don't forget that once upon a time Maine was once a part of the State of Massachusetts, although I agree that repartnering seems unlikely, unless the six states of New England banded together, which would make sense for all except Connecticut, which I feel a large portion relies on New York based income.

Illinois has had legalized recreational marijuana for a good while now, so this is pretty out of date in certain respects. There were also a lot of aspects of various states he didn't address, such as education and per capita average wealth, or even diversity of economies. Incidentally, the term "per capita" means "per person", usually taken as an average. Most of the south receives more tax money from the federal government, and many northern states supply more than they receive, so that should be addressed also.

California has had legal marijuana for recreational purposes for many years. They have billboards on the freeways leading into San Francisco advertising recreational marijuana “dispensaries” (you can’t get it at regular drug stores) showing what exits to take and giving directions listing the name, address, phone number of the marijuana store. They are a bit competitive too, saying “best selection, competitive prices” and so on. I don’t smoke marijuana myself but I don’t care if others use it for recreational reasons. They’ll even deliver it to your door if you phone in an order. Usually they advertise: “No extra cost for home delivery. Delivery guaranteed in 30 minutes.” But, for home delivery you have to pay cash. They don’t accept credit or debit cards.

I’ve never seen a Flamingo in the wild in Florida, but the Florida Lottery has one as their mascot. Sandhill Cranes are everywhere in Central Florida. US 441 Orange Blossom Trail!

​@@debbiesdeathpile That used to be the unchallenged scientific consensus until around 2018 when its native status was confirmed. Hence, why the state bird is now being reconsidered. With becoming a state bird, it could help influence the campaign to bring federal protections to flamingos so they aren't extirpated from the state again. Hard to keep a native bird around when people hunt it out of existence.

@@eMemoryCard I did when I used to live on the west coast of Florida. Not anymore now that I'm more central. Likewise, I never saw a sandhill crane in my life until I moved to the Orlando area. I think they are so creepy, lol. The gulf coast is not at all far from Central Florida, but the animals are so different!

Kitsap county in Washington State would be the 3rd most powerful nation in the world because Bangor Submarine base houses 12 nuclear subs with 24 missiles each with 8 warheads per missile. Each of those warheads could take out multiple cities. This doesn’t count all the nuclear missile storage on base.
