The best memory i had when i went to secondary school was in Year 11, praying during the month of Ramadan in one of our classrooms. Muslims were a minority (i believe only 2 other Muslims were in my year) and a teacher allowed us Muslims to pray in his classroom at lunch. A shame that some schools want to ban this. It causes literally no harm. We prayed and there were no problems. Even did the Adhan fine.

You may not have been alive long enough. I mean no offence. The way it works in the uk is freedom of speech is also used to prevent Muslim schools from opening. They have something called “ofsted” which basically does not allow muslim schools to exist. The only way to achieve it is to go private Muslim school, but then that only becomes accessible for the few. It’s a bit tricky. This is also why it’s important for Muslims to become successful and wealthy in the west so we can succeed in maintaining a better future for our children. Homeschooling is on the rise because of this.

Such a terrible misrepresentation of the situation. The school originally had no problem with the kids praying, until Muslim kids started bullying other non-practicing Muslims into praying. As a result, the school bans praying, and fairly points out that other religious groups make concessions. Jehovah's witnesses accept that the school teaches Shakespeare plays with witches even though they don't like it, Hindus accept that the school plates come into contact with eggs even though they don't like it. Muslims however don't want to accept they can't pray and waste 150,00 pounds of tax payers money on fighting the school then play the victim card when they lose. There are plenty of other schools that allow prayer in the local area, Muslim parents are free to send their kids there if they have a problem with the rules

What is unfair is people such as the bloke on this channel spreading the idea that this is some anti-islamic school or the school is being unfair to Muslims. The teachers have had death threats, their houses broken into, horrific abuse online, the police even had to search the school for bombs, the lives of the staff have been hell for the last year and videos which give a false impression of the school like this one contribute towards that. To put the school incident into context, it was said there was racial abuse of a teacher by a pupil plus some of pupils bullied their peers to pray.......Do you think this is the way to spread Islam? Every parent of every Muslim pupil at the Michaela school were made aware of the secular nature of the school before enrolling their children. There are plenty of Islamic , catholic, Anglican faith schools in London. If you want your child to have a religious based education you have plenty of options.

What I’ve said in the text bellow is quite a long paragraph addressing Michaela and my experience there as a student. Do note that I wrote it with some bias against it. If u don’t wanna read all that I’ll just say that Michaela is an institute that mentally breaks down a child from the very beginning, forces them to become sheep and follow whatever rules and policies they have put in place, breaking such rules will result in harsh punishment setting an example for other students not to do it. Glancing at the window/clock or not having ur arms visible and crossed on the table were one of the many examples which could lead u to receive a detention. Teachers are evidently racist from the way they address parents especially towards certain ethnic groups. That is a school no parent should send their child to and I urge parents to not acknowledge a singe piece of information that school tells the public because it’s all lies. I attended that poor excuse of a school for some time. Nothing but depression and oppression in that mentally draining institute. Their rules and policies are so unrealistically harsh it goes way past the point of “discipline” - something they like to point to whenever they justify their reasoning to put ur child in detention for glancing at the clock. Don’t get me started on the uniform and the obscure policies they put in place for it. I spare no sympathy for the teachers as well, they know how obsessed the school is, and in-turn how obsessed they are punishing and out right oppressing young kids, especially since the majority of them are from ethnic backgrounds. Every single member of staff excluding the cleaning and catering staff are sick racists, especially senior staff. They all claim to come from Oxford and Cambridge and possess the best abilities that a teacher can attribute to themselves, yet they decide to teach at some ghetto school in north west London, a place definitely not appealing for one who has been educated at Oxford or Cambridge. Bragging about their alleged attendance at Oxbridge is their way of saying “look at me u uneducated foreigners! I went to the best university in this country, maybe the world therefore I’m better than you and the ethnic backgrounds of which u originated from.” My father would account for this as he felt this way when he tried to get a meeting with the school to address the severe mental health issues I had that had stemmed from that school caused by the bullying of those wicked teachers. Luckily for me, my father didn’t attend the assemblies the school would hold every now and then for parents to be reminded or more so to be indoctrinated about the idea of Michaela being a godsend to humanity and how they are the “chosen ones”. I wish I were exaggerating this part but they seriously describe the school to parents as a “golden ticket to a secured future” and how they are “better than every single school in the U.K, even the world” and get students to believe that lie as well. When I left that school and saw what a regular secondary school was I couldn’t believe it, I started concerning myself over the thought of the rest of the students at that school, cuz I knew I was far from the only person who felt the same way I do towards that school. I feel like I’ve said enough on the matter, just know that a child’s mental health is not worth the 8s and 9s at GCSE.

Ostensibly, you can practise Islam without actually being a Muslim: outwardly. Abdullah bin Ubayy was an excellent example of this. This being the case, I don't understand why prayer has been singled out for banning. I have not heard the reasoning for this decision to ban prayer in this school, but on the face of it, based on the fact that prayer is simply a set of actions just like any other actions such as talking or running in the playground, it shows imbalanced and unjust reasoning on the part of those making and upholding the decision, which brings into question all the decisions made by these individuals.
