I just needed a different shade. Happy with the results.

Dylon is brill! The improvement on those trousers is amazing 👍 The shirt did well, looks much better, you will be far more discrete in that now. The hat didn't take the colour so well because it's so new, they bung loads of 'dress' on them to aid wear and that impairs the absorption of the dye, it still looks much better though 😊 I expect the ladies watching this will all be thinking, "love a man who knows his way around a washing machine" 😃 xx xx

I've used a bit of dubbin on my DesDpm vest to decent effect, still in progress though, aiming for an Mtp kind of scheme overall.

I really like DDPM. In Australia it's an excellent camo for outback and its nice and cool in direct sun of course. Can't be bothered to dye it because the MTP I swear is perfect for coastal bush/rain forest. My wife and daughter give me hell for having so much camo now but for the work I do, all those big pockets are so handy, the fit is loose and comfy. Crazy thing is it's cheaper to buy British surplus down under than Aussie.
@frogmaster832 жыл бұрын
By what I have seen on tv, it would be good in Australia. With the brown over dye, it works well here in the woods when the leaves have gone brown. 👍
@joschmoyo45322 жыл бұрын
@@frogmaster83 Exactly. Down here the light and shade balance is quite different. The greens are more blue and grey tinted. Olive green rather than bright green. Soil is many shades of red and brown rather than black. I got a bunch of DDPM insanely inexpensive so I snapped up what I could afford from Army and outdoors. It's a kiwi outfit. Need to get a basha. Need to get out and stalk some Deer for the freezer. Open season here at the moment !

I have done it with mtp to go with a real tree top it works really well The hat still has Teflon spray on it so it is still water and stain protected, you need to wash in boling water and washing up liquid to get it out before you dye it

Looks great . From loud to subdued! Isn't that the whole point of camo ? I think I'll try something like that on my camelbak hawg military camo ? First I'll try a light coloured then a mid gray , in an attempt to flatten out the camo as much as pos ? I want it so you have to look twice, is that really camo , sort of thing ? What do you think ?

@frogmaster83 Жыл бұрын
not at all. The Dylon pods are designed to be used in a washing machine. Best to do a short/empty wash afterwards, just to make sure all the dye has been flushed out though.
@djwoody1649 Жыл бұрын
@@frogmaster83 Hmmm, I think I might have a go at this then mate. Was thinking of doing a windproof. Have you tried any other colours? I've seen some people do black and green but I think the brown seems to come out best.

@@frogmaster83 Oh and Jim, does the dye spoil the flag patches? Is it better to try unpick them first and then sew them back on? Cheers for your time.
@frogmaster83 Жыл бұрын
@@djwoody1649 yes it would darken them. I would take them off if you wanted them to look original.
