Your advice about immersion and being required to speak a foreign language was spot-on. One of the reasons I enjoy visiting Tijuana (from California) is that, when I do, I am instantly dropped into an environment where the majority of people do not speak English fluently, and I have no choice but to use my limited Spanish speaking skills. It's great fun, really. I love it. The bit about your neighbors listening to a lot of music was hilarious. I'm not sure if you're even trying that hard, but you have a great sense of comedic timing and delivery. It comes across very naturally.

Hi Lucy, I am a Pakistani Pushtoon and MSc in Botany, yet am lang crazy, indeed. I could speak 4 local languages beside Pushto, my mother tongue, and quite good in writing and speaking English. Your Italian pronunciation is very good, I can hardly feel your English accent. Let me give you an advice: we always put the article before a language, so instead of saying "Sto imparando italiano" you have to say "Sto imparando l'italiano.".

Chiniese/ Portugales. So, I'd like to offer you to teach Russian :) - it is my native one. I'm a helicopter pilot, I have a high education, and with pleasure can help you in practicing Russian. You know, my native language is not easy, but very interesting and expressive.
