I think Irish English is "a bit" different is because the Irish didn't speak English naturally and it happened due to the language adoption and acquisition. But I don't know about Dublin and it's surroundings because the majority of them speak English since the 1700s and I've heard that the English settlers mostly resided in the eastern part of Ireland(especially Dublin's metro area) and they intermarried extensively with the native Irish which quickened the adoption of English and there are many sources that the population in eastern part of Ireland have a little "sprinkle" of English ancestry in their blood/family trees.......... while the whole of the country adopted English in a massive way after the great hunger and since then the Irish lost a big amount of Irish speakers who had emigrated to countries such as the US & UK and their language was dying. I hope the Irish won't forget their "original language" and it's so sad to image that would be..... at least if most of them speak English as their native language but they can learn and revive the language😢 but actually the language adoption didn't only occur to Ireland. Even England also lost their native Brythonic language😂 gladly your colonizers were also lost their language due to the Anglo-Saxon invasion. At this point if we talk about the English people's genetics....... they're not Germanic people and their genetics primarily consist of the Celtic population element...... so the Anglo-Saxons invaded them, ruled them hundreds of years, imposed their language on them and intermarried extensively with the natives which quickened the adoption of the language more..... those who are residing in eastern and southern England might resemble the Dutch and Germans genetically since the Anglo-Saxons were from the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark(Anglos)...... and after centuries of loosing and shifting their language from Brythonic(Celtic) to Anglo-Saxon/Old English(Germanic).... they called themselves "Anglo-Saxons" or "Anglos" and even took the name of the tribe to be their country name and identity("England" which means "Anglo's land" and the people who are in are called "English"😂)...... not only England though...... France, Spain, Portugal, Moldova, Romania also lost their native tongue and speak a Romance/Latin(Italic) language even genetically they're not Italic people like the people who reside in central Italy(which are though to be the "real" Romans😂).... most Roman invaders and rulers in England weren't "real" and most of them were "fake"/"Romanized" Iberians(Spaniards), Gauls(French), Tartesians(Portuguese), Belgaes(Belgians) etc etc😂 and they imposed their culture to the native Brythonic population and even the population in southern England(especially London) was partially Romanized/they lost their native tongue and used Latin as their primary language spoken in everyday and even adopted Roman cultures and customs😂 while after the Anglo-Saxons came the new rulers of England(the Anglo-Saxons) were also adopting the Roman culture that was embraced by the native population😂 it's funny how the English consider themselves as Germanic people(Anglo-Saxons).... if by the culture and language then yes but I think they'll be shocked and shrugged after knowing that they're "Welsh" genetically😂 so at this point most of the British Isles' population are "Germanicized" Celts(including the English who are "fake" Germanic people/Celts who're trying to be Germanic people)....... the Irish were Germanicized by the English colonists(since the English language is from Germanic branch)......... and the English/Germanic-speaking Brythonics were Germanicized by the Anglo-Saxon invaders who then became their rulers😂

Language doesn't mean that the genetics of the speakers are the "same" as the genetics of the language. I know it's confusing and let's take example of North Africans. Genetically North Africans are primarily Berbers even those who speak Arabic everyday and we can easily blame on the Arabs for imposing their language to North Africa! How could Egyptians speak Arabic instead of their own native language? The Arabs forced them and lost their language! Talking language and genetic are very controversial. Like even how Ariana Grande speaks English natively even she's still fully Italian? And why do most Equatorial Guineans speak Spanish natively even most of them barely have any Spanish ancestry and so do the Angolans who are Portuguese-speaking black/Africans. Most Angolans speak Portuguese natively and it's so sad even their location is far from Europe those fucking European colonizers still managed to lose their native languages🙄 also don't forget about the Turkish people. Again if we talk about the genetics the Turkish people primarily are descendants of the native Anatolians which are genetically similar to Greeks(European) and it's safe to say that Türkiye is a European nation if we consider their primary genetic component but if we consider their cultures, traditions, customs and mainly language.... it's all originated in central Asia who were brought by the Turkic tribes to Anatolia thousands of years ago😂 so it's controversial to mix language and genetics up😂

What happened was in Northern Ireland and Ireland where separated and where two different countries and the Ireland wanted to become one bigger county but Northern Ireland didn’t want to so a war started called the troubles but northern joined the uk and the Scottish came over and helped and then we learned their language because it is nearly the same as ours but some Scottish lads went and joined the Irish side and that’s where they go the language from but it is called Ulster Scots language
