In all fairness to Kyle Busch, in the earlier part of his career, he absolutely was a hothead, asshole, brat, whatever word you want to use lol. In the last few years though, he has personally matured, and most of his antics around the track are for show, as he understands he has created this image and just continues to play the character. This year was particularly frustrating for him because M&M's backed out of NASCAR, so he had no sponsor to fund his car, and his team basically gave up on him halfway through the season. Through interviews off the track through the season you could see Kyle breaking character more and more of his actual feelings came out, as he was basically being pushed out of the car he drove for the last 15 years. Luckily he has gotten a ride with another team, but if you were to watch NASCAR next season, you won't be seeing a #18 M&M's car.

To answer your question early in the video NASCAR almost exclusively races oval tracks there are some road courses and of course not every oval is the same so it takes a different degree of skill for each course, stock cars are about twice as heavy as a formula 1 car so they can sustain a lot more contact than a formula 1 car so there's a lot of bumping and rubbing to get to the front it's a more aggressive driving style not to detract from formula 1 those guys have a lot of skill but NASCAR is a completely different racing style is what I'm trying to say

The dirt track is just Bristol Motor Speedway, which is a concrete short track, with red Tennessee clay on top of it to make it a dirt track. The NASCAR Cup Series race the dirt track once a year since 2021 and is the only dirt race on the schedule. And then later in the season they go back to Bristol, but with it being the normal concrete oval.

If you do check out a live race, I strongly suggest you watch one when they're at the Daytona or Talladega tracks. Those are the two most exciting tracks. The Daytona 500 is the biggest race of the season, and the 1st race of the season. It's usually the 3rd Sunday in February. The weekend before that is an exhibition race that serves as a practice session. Then, the have two 50 lap races on Thursday, that serves as part of the qualifying for the Sunday race. NASCAR truly is the most exciting form of auto racing. They go to most of the tracks, twice per season.
@nateisdabest
@nateisdabest Жыл бұрын
Actually, while the Daytona and Talladega races may be great to be at, the viewing experience is less than ideal due to how massive the tracks are, for the most part you just watch the race on the video boards. In reality, you may want to go to short tracks, mainly Martinsville or Bristol, or older tracks such as Darlington and soon to be a coming back of North Wilkesboro. Intermediate tracks that are good include Charlotte, Miami-Homestead, and Atlanta.

So the McDonald's guy shoving the guy in blue was Bubba Wallace shoving the 2021 champion, Kyle Larson after wrecking him because he didn't like hard racing. He intentionally wrecked him, same weekend we lost one of our drivers, Kurt Busch, due to a concussion in a similar wreck. It forced him to retire. There was underlying safety issues all year with these cars. They weren't absorbing the impacts as well as the previous car from last year, as these were entirely new cars, especially impacts to the back end of the car. He's obviously a bit dazed and he was willing to talk it out, Larson was. Fighting comes with a points penalty and likely suspensions. Larson was looking for a championship. Bubba wasn't. He's definitely not a pussy. He knows what he was doing and thinking long term.

Race length for NASCAR can be anywhere from 250-500 miles with the exception of a 600 mile race. IndyCar races are 250-375 miles with the exception of the Indy 500. NASCAR's 600 mile race is the same day as Monaco and the Indy 500 so the USA gets to watch racing from 7am - 10pm or so on Memorial Day.

One of the craziest moments of the season came off of the track. The Cup race at Pocono saw both the 1st and 2nd place finishers disqualified after post race inspection of their cars found them both to be cheating. The win was awarded to Chase Elliot, who finished 3rd. It was the first time in modern NASCAR history that a driver won a race while never being in 1st place.

I noticed early on some of these clips need context to make sense as a "best moment" as some of them are guys leading or winning after a long dry spell, on a new team, or their first win. Luckily Mr Roger Penske gave us that. You mentioned the racing line being confusing, and it can be, but it mainly just depends on the track. The track you originally mentioned that at is Darlington, I believe it's the oldest track on the schedule. It's already shaped weird due to some property disputes back when it was being built, and just the outside edge, about a lane and a half is banked, the rest of it is flat so everyone runs the outside on the banking there unless they're trying to make a pass they'll use the flat part. NASCAR oval tracks range from 0.5 miles with heavy braking in a flat hairpin turn, to 2.66 miles with wide sweeping turns with high banking that you can take wide open so there's a lot of varying corner speeds from track to track. Even in F1 and karting the concept exists of apexing turns to make the best lap time so that's normally how they approach a corner, outside-inside-outside. When you're in a battle for position the outside line is able to carry more speed off the turn, while the inside is the shorter distance. It also depends where the person in front of you is running because you want the clean air so your car will drive better, so if they're running high you want to run low, and vice versa. Oh and Kyle Larson is NOT a pussy😠

My family had a dirt oval back in PA in the early 90’s. To me that was the most entertaining racing. I loved watching modifieds , stock cars, late models, and sprinters. I couldn’t stay as interested in nascar, it’s faster but there’s not drifts and dirt flying, there’s not nearly as much going on at any point of the track. Those crashes were frequent and bad, we’d usually always have the wrecker come out to tow them off the track.

Here’s another form of racing in the US and I’m curious what your reaction is going to be. These are sprint cars - very stripped down vehicles with 410 cubic inch engines, approx 900bhp. They burn fuel very quickly so races are short - about 30 to 50 laps on, at most, a 1/2 mile (about 1km) dirt oval. This is the highlight for a single race from 2020 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pl6rZqd3g9N0gaM Enjoy.

Or the 3 way battle for the win at Circuit of the America's where the #1 got his first career win but they cut out the prior corners where there were very intense battles. Stuff like that. There was plenty of great racing this year and to make a video where it's mostly crashes, it doesn't do the season justice. 2022 makes the short list of best seasons I can remember

If you want to watch a great battle in NASCAR I highly suggest the last 80 laps of the "2020 Bass Pro Shop Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway". Start it at 2 hours, 30 minutes and watch until the end. It's about a half hour. The 18 and the 4 left everyone in the dust and settled the win for themselves. Neither driver gave an inch all the way to the checkered flag. The sheer length of this battle (lasting 80 laps) made it one of the most impressive battles NASCAR has ever seen. There is dirt oval track racing, not only in the U.S. and Canada, but also in Australia and Great Britain. Currently, to race at the local grass-roots level, a dirt track car can cost from $25,000 to $150,000 to build. the races are a couple of hours throughout the whole weekend nascars three divisions drive on the same track its fun a map to understand is shorttrack = alot of crashes and anger speedway/superspeedway full throttle the whole time meaning aerodynamics is the drivers main worry Roadcourses = a mixed bag also talletage has the big one a crash known to wipe half of the field Martinsville is the smallest nascar track Darlington is shaped like an egg so if your car is tuned for one turn the other is more difficult oh also dirt racing is not normally on the cup series it is on the lower division tho.

Each team only has to do one race per week, but drivers may do more than one if they choose. A Cup Series driver can still schedule an Xfinity or Trucks ride as long as (I think) it's the same track as the Cup race and not on the same day. And they can also even schedule a ride outside of NASCAR, it's not uncommon to see a NASCAR driver in a charity race at a small town racetrack driving late models and sprint cars (William Byron and Kyle Larson do this a lot) or competing in IMSA and endurance races.

Very true, but idk how much it's for "charity" Larson won a late model race on his birthday, drove the car to the bank, and the crowd sung him happy birthday. Was like a $50k pay day

"guy in blue" - Larson best driver out there won 10 races last year, he didn't fight back because he's fresh off a suspension and is under probation and a watchful eye under NASCAR. He is needing sponsors and knows fighting is the opposite of what NASCAR wants to see. Love the reaction video! You should watch a full race next season! Might become a fan especially the road courses with the new car

11:05 I was at this race and watched this wreck happen! It was the longest race in NASCAR history based on time and so many cars wrecked out of this race. I was also at the race at 3:08 and those two made contact right in front of me! The dirt track actually has an asphalt base, but they lay dirt on the track for the race in the Spring, then take it off for the Fall race and they race on the asphalt. I live 15 minutes away from that track!

17:10 Sad part is that Bubba Wallace is a good driver, but he -- much like Kyle Busch in years past -- has a terrible anger-management problem. Dude needs to get a handle on that. His deliberately wrecking and then picking a fistfight with Kyle Larson was one of the most uncool things I've seen in the last few years -- very reminiscent of the road rage Kyle Busch perpetrated years ago on another driver (Ron Hornaday Jr. in the Trucks Series), minus the fight-picking afterwards. Ross Chastain's Wild Wall Ride is definitely my highlight of the season. I've been watching NASCAR for nearly 30 years and have never seen anything even remotely like that be so successful.

The new next gen cars look cool but man are they broken, the racing at the short tracks got much worse, these cars seem to fall apart after awhile, the way these cars crash vs all of the older cars is much different these cars are much stiffer and don’t bend as much when the wreck which sounds like a good thing but it’s the exact opposite multiple drivers had concussions from very minor crashes and one of the greatest nascar drivers of the modern era Kurt Busch was forced into early retirement after his pocono crash, nascar is working on adjusting the car so it bends more when it wrecks for next year
