My uncle had 4 ostriches on a farm for a couple of years. I must have been 11 or 12 at the time, and we went out to have a look at them. I had no idea they were that big! But they were birds, right? And we thought we could just go feed them like ducks or something. We went to open the gate to go in with them, and 3 grown ass people started screaming like "The FUCK YOU DOING? They will kill you!!" We were startled, the ostriches were startled, and one of them kicked like a little plank that was on the fence (like a 2X4 or something) and broke it like it was a toothpick. Their legs bend the wrong way, so they can kick like a demon straight forward. I have never been so scared in my life, because the sound was like a shotgun to a barn door or something. "WHHAAAAP!" And the plank broke and flew away. Had a lot more respect for them after that! @@samsalas9323

There was a circus that came to my town back in the 90s and my mom worked for the major sponsor. I got to ride an elephant in the opening parade at 8 years old. I did not want to do it. I did it because my mom made me. I’ve never been to anything circus related since. I could tell that elephant was sad even at 8 years old. Also when I was 3, the same circus had a bear maul it’s trainer. I don’t remember any of that, my mom had her hands over my eyes.

Yeah, Kevin Hart is one of the best storytelling comedians and it's mostly his height that helps the punchline. Assuming the story is true, it was probably an emu and not an ostrich. I family in Iowa and all over Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri emus are becoming a big thing. They farm the eggs and meat there.

Yes you're correct Gaynor. Dolphins in captivity is cruelty. Tell Aiden it's better to take boat tours off the coast of California, Mexico or Florida and see whales or Dolphins in the wild ocean than in a pool at a marine petting amusement park. They wouldn't exist if people would stop going to them and making them profitable. ✌

Female Ostriches are 5.6-6.6 feet tall, you are thinking of an Emu, Aiden they are 5.7 feet tall. An adult male Ostrich is 6.9-9.2 feet tall. The animals at SeaWorld are rescued from harm, and are rotated with older ones released back into the wild eventually. It's not cruelty to have an animal in a zoo. Zoo animals are born into captivity and have no ability to survive in the world, it would be cruelty to set them free.

Ehhh it kinda isnt good to have animals in zoos. Zoos don't nearly have the space for these animals. A much better place would be wildlife parks/sanctuaries or safaris. But at the same time we'd need a lot of space for these wildlife parks and I don't know if there'd be a huge push to create them. But we should never let zoo animals back into the wild i agree. They'd get annihilated 10 minutes in the wild. Edit: Thinking about it, maybe because some zoo animals are born in a zoo, they believe that a 150 sq feet enclosure is ok since it is all they've known and they don't exhibit anxiety or depression behaviors of normal animals. But I'm sure they might've felt claustrophobic at least once. Who really knows I guess.

By this logic, it should be no issue to saddle up any animal that seems to enjoy some amount of interactivity with humans, correct? This is not the case, however. Not even all horses, domesticated or not, will tolerate a rider.

Yes it's cruel. Dolphins in captivity have no choice to interact with people. lol If you've ever seen a wild horse free or a dolphin in the ocean you'd know how cruel captivity is. Just because horses and dolphins are tamed, don't mean they are not stressed, depressed or unhappy. It's been proven most animals live far longer in the wild verses captivity.
