Eric Stonestreet is actually straight, but his acting and character has gotten a lot of positive response from the gay community. Also the daughter was later changed to another older actress.

The actress playing baby Lily was changed to a different baby/toddler, but I think all (or almost all?) of the clips we see here of toddler Lily are the same actress as the older Lily, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.

Lily was originally played by infant twins Ella and Jaden Hiller in seasons 1 & 2. But the parents decided they didn’t want to do that anymore so didn’t want to return for season 3. The producers recast Lily with the 4 year old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who remained in the role through to the conclusion. So it seemed weird like Lily aged too fast from season 2-3 but everyone else and other children stayed the same age.

Eric Stonestreet (who plays Cam, the heavyset guy) is not gay. And interestingly enough he worked as a standup comedian at the same time Bobby Lee was starting out, so they are still friends and he's been on Bobby's podcast TigerBelly at least once. Of course Modern Family made him (and the rest of the cast) insanely rich.

in real life, Mitchell (the red head) is gay. he is married to his husband and they have two sons. Cam is straight in real life and engaged to his girlfriend (now fiancee)
