did you know that there is a place in China that is almost exactly like Eilean Donan Castle. in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmrShaSebrl8otk it's in the middle of a lake surrounded by mountains.
Why I have a feeling that Allan looks like more relaxing than Luis does. Luis is like a discipline English gentleman which is good but it will be better if Luis can be more relaxed. ♪┌|∵|┘♪ ♪┌|∵|┘♪ ♪┌|∵|┘♪

I was looking forward to a ton of answers from Lewis, but unfortunately Allen had to keep cutting him off so he could only answer one short question after trying food each time
Allan, good job. You did well. I'm agree what you said in the KZbin. "To a day market not just once don't just come here and take photos would come and experience Taiwan on a regular basis and really integrate into socity and you can feel much part of the country."
Dude, you're making me hungry. I've always enjoyed going to markets. England, Scotland, Germany, Korea, Okinawa all had great local markets. We do have farmers' markets in places here in the States, but just none that I've ever been to that have the kind of atmosphere or breadth of merchandise and activities like I've experienced elsewhere. I know they exist in some of the larger cities, I've seen them in various food shows on the telly. But I've not been to one and they are nowhere near being as common as they are in the other places I've lived or traveled. One of the nice things about England was the ability to travel a relatively short distance pretty much every day to a town that was having their market day. I lived there for over seven years in a 22 year span, in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, and Norfolk. Maybe one day I'll make it to Taiwan...
Loved the combination of food, story telling and taiwan footage. Great video!

2:05 The pink sauce is also found on 肉圓 (Meat Rounds, made famous in Taichung and Changhua). It is so called 海山醬 HaiShan Sauce(Sea Mountain Sauce- b/c it goes well with anything). It is sweet b/c it is made with 糖 Sugar、醬油 Soysauce、紅糟 (a red yeast typically found and used only in Taiwan and China. The redness of the yeast is unique, and you can see it used on Hong Kong BBQ and fried pork strips). Hope that helps. Taiwan's traffic is indeed horrendous. In the first year I went back( this was like a decade ago), I ran into everything whether voluntarily or involuntarily,: a speeding motorcycle, a small cargo truck intent on backing up even though he knew I was behind him, a drunk construction worker wobbling in the middle of the road who decided to collapse against my car, a motorcyclist who fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into my car, an old lady making an illegal u-turn at a red light plowed into me who had the green light... everyone should attend driving schools like the US and really dish out harsher punishment against DUI.
It's great to see a new friend joining here. Lews, home yourself!

I lived , studied, worked in China for 8 years . I met my spouse there . She is Korean. Now I'm living in SK and every year we still go to Taiwan. We still love China. But the hustle to make a visa and other Bs is just meh.. also.. the good education level of Taiwanese peeps are so fantastic. You never hear from Taiwanese... "不知道" "没办法"。。。 with a negation head shake or a shoulder shrug without even being looked at. When you live 8 years in China as a foreigner and you have a HSK level 4 ~5 . You just feel like everyone is just trying to screw you because of your white skin. But then when you speak Chinese like the locals and their dialects then they change their tune..
WOW~ 🤩 I would like to say Alan is quite a gourmet especially in Taichung! You do make the excellent choice bringing Lewis to the well known Taichung 2nd Market! Well done 👍 Amazing and tasty food 😋🥳
