Wanna have your mind blown? Google the image of Czar Nicholas II standing next to his cousin, King George V (Queen Elizabeth's grandfather)… Also Nicholas's son Alexei's hemophilia was actually a family trait thought to have originated with Queen Victoria, who was one of Alexei's Great Grandmothers on his mother's side

Fun fact, George Orwell, the writer of Animal Farm and 1984, was a staunch socialist, and said himself that "Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it." It's a rather tragic irony that his works are often interpreted as anti-socialist, and used as talking points against it, when in truth, they are merely anti-Stalinist but otherwise in full support of Socialism.

My son has hemophilia. The disease occurs in severe, moderate, and light forms. My son is a moderate, but the Tsar's son was a severe. Severes can bleed spontaneously from even the lightest trauma. Bleeding internally is very painful. Joints are frequently involved and they quickly degenerate due to hemophilia caused arthritis. Back then, there was no effective treatment, so severes were significantly limited in their activity, frequently confined due to bleeds, and usually led markedly shortened lives. (Today there is good treatment, though the condition is still uncurable). Rasputin may have appeared to help the boy, but he was definitely not cured.

The way you figure out your kid has hemophilia is when, the first time he scrapes his knee, you notice it bleeds for three hours instead of three minutes. People can die of hemophilia, if they're not careful, and aren't cared for properly. And even if they don't die (most don't) think about a kid who's constantly getting the standard scrapes and cuts that kids do. They'd lose enough blood on a regular basis to constantly have low blood volume, low iron, etc. It's a serious health issue.

Alexandra was Victoria's granddaughter. Victoria was also a hemophilia carrier. Only one of her sons had the disease, Leopold. The disease was known in Victoria's day, but no one could do anything about it.
@blackeyedlily
@blackeyedlily 4 жыл бұрын
That hemophilia can be traced back to Queen Victoria. It is passed down through the female line, but only presents in boys. One of Queen Victoria’s sons was a hemophiliac. And the Tsarinna was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria through her daughter Princess Alice. Her son Alexei was the only boy, after four daughters. So they were desperate to do anything they could about his hemophilia. Apparently Rasputin was skilled in hypnosis. And this could have been of help in slowing the bleeding for young Alexei. King George V of great Britain was first cousin to both the Tsar and Tsarinna. He could have potentially provided them with refuge if they had gone into exile. But George was afraid it might lead to uprisings against his own family in Britain.

Hemophilia was one of the most well known disorders of that time period. It ran in royal blood, and since the royals kept marrying each other, it was a huge problem. Not many genetic disorders were studied at that time or got a lot of funding for research, but this one did because of the powerful afflicted.

You might find this interesting-Britain was a big reason why the Japanese did so well against Russia. They helped build up their industry and so even though japan was relatively new at modernization they had developed a extremely modern navy. The Russian navy was repeatedly crushed and bringing more troops caused huge delays since most of Russia’s population lives near the European border

I have a condition that is very very similar to hemophilia that is called von willembrand's syndrome, but I have a very very minor version of it period all it is is that you stop bleeding a little slower than other people, so if you get a cut, you need to get a Band-Aid on it so it will stop the bleeding a little faster. For me, it doesn't have very much effect because I have a very minor case of it, but for some people their blood just doesn't really clot, meaning that they're bruising or cuts don't really close on their own and need to be held together by a strong Band-Aid if they're minor or stitches if they are a major cut it's also affects internal bleeding and bruises, and so if you get a bump on your head, wear another normal person might just have a small little bump you might have a little bit bigger of a lump on your forehead because the blood just doesn't stop flowing for a lot longer than the average person. I'm lucky that I have such a minor case of it to the point where I don't really exhibit symptoms of it on a noticeable scale, mostly because I just have a recessive gene and neither of my parents have it. As a result of this, people with my condition, minor or major, are told to steer away from rough sports like American football, rugby, etc because we are prone to concussions and brain damage, but as a boost our blood is a little thinner therefore we don't get blood clots as easily.

21:15 This is Hemophilia: www.wfh.org/ EDIT: The scabs you get when your skin is cut, pierced or otherwise broken is the result of blood clotting. It’s your body’s natural defense against bleeding out. If such a function was impaired in some way, you could potentially pass out or even die from the blood lost (depending on severity).

The main mistake was marrying into Queen Victoria's family line. She knew that her line carried Hemophilia to male children, but as she was the ruler of the most powerful kingdom at the time many chose to marry her children. The Tsar Nickolas married one of her daughters and the Hemophilia passed to their youngest son. The poor child suffered terribly, but the tsar and his family had to hide his condition because it would be seen as a weakness to the Russian people. You should really research it, it is fascinating but also tragic. They didn't have the modern medications to treat the condition that we have today and as a result the children suffered for it. Sadly we will never know if he would have been a good ruler after his father as the entire family was murdered.....with the only rumored survivor being Princess Anastasia. But that is a whole different subject.

You, a Brit, have never heard of hemophilia? It was passed down from his great-grandmother... Queen Victoria (of the UK). :-P Alexei's mother (Alexandra, Nicholas' wife) was the daughter of Princess Alice, who was Queen Victoria's daughter. Many of Queen Victoria's descendants had hemophilia because they were carriers of the disease and would often inter-marry.

Hemophilia is a hereditary disease passed on from the mother, and Queen Victoria passed this wonderful disease down to quite a few of her descendants, including the Tsar's son, Alexei. This is well documented and was well-known. Both Nicholas and Alexandra were related to each other, and Alexandra was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, thus a carrier of the hemophilia gene. Rasputin was a well-known character even in those days, and was a contributing factor in the downfall of the Tsar because of his influence over Alexandra, and her influence over the Tsar to save their son's life, as he was the only male heir the Tsar had. Side note of interest: The disclaimer you see on virtually all movies produced to this day that all characters are fictional, and any resemblance to any character living or dead is strictly coincidental, comes directly from a court case involving a movie about the murder of Rasputin. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIfGmpWeobR-r6c.
