Tanya was only 13 years old when she released her smash hit Delta Dawn. That was in the very early 70s. She was still producing hits in the early 2000s.

I always loved Tanya's unique voice. Yes, I think we all live with some kind of regret. If your loved ones are still around don't wait until it's too late to say "I love you." 🦋🥀🦋🥀🦋

Great reaction. I tell my friends and Son all the time to bring/send me flowers when I am alive as they would be wasted when I am gone, so that struck me as a WOW, someone actually wrote that in a song. Beautiful.

BEAUTIFUL song!! I love Tanya (you pronounced her name correctly)!! She's got such a great smokey/raspy voice---like no other!!! I love her singing "Delta Dawn"!! I like what you said/have noticed about Country music artists.... That they don't have big heads, that most of 'em know everybody else in Country music, that they collaborate, well, and so-forth, because that is so true!! One time someone said something similar to that to Reba McEntire, whom they were interviewing, and she said, something like, "No, we don't let anybody get a big head---we'd take 'em down a peg or two, real fast, if they tried"!!! I feel she was speaking for alot of Country music people, when she said that---and Southerners, in general, really!! Great reaction!!

I love Tanya! She has so many good ones. I love Down to my Last Teardrop, It’s a Little Too Late, If Your Heart Ain’t Busy Tonight, If It Don’t Come Easy, Some Kind of Trouble, and her duet with T. Graham Brown, Don’t Go Out.

As an old country gal ( I'm 70 years old ) who lives 50 mi from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. I can tell you from first-hand experience country singers try to help out each other all the time. The late great Minnie Pearl was more "" THE MAMA "" to all the country singers and even helped some start their careers in country music. A lot of times they would play on each other's music records or even just walk out on the stage to sing with them for the heck of it. When tornadoes or floods hit are raising money for the homeless order cheer up our military boys when they're fighting. Country singers will give their hearts to help out. You're rarely see a country singer that don't wear a big 💗💓💞 on their sleeve, and a lot of times that they hear somebody singing good they'll help them start their career. God Bless country singers past and present. 🤗😉🙏🤠🤠

It’s been said-try Brandi’s ‘The Story’ or ‘The Joke’ For Tanya, start with her start, ‘Delta Dawn’ Brandi did this album with Tanya out of love and respect! Damn right to give Tanya her flowers. She’s lived through it and is still amazing!

This won Tanya her first ever Grammy Awards for both country song and country album of the year. Brandi co-produced and wrote most of the album including this song that she wrote with Tanya. It was Tanya's first album in 17 years. Brandi's two most well-known songs are "The Story" and "The Joke". "That Wasn't Me" is a beautiful piano song like this one with Kris Kristofferson starring in the video.

Tanya was about 13 when she released her first hit; she's been in the music business for about 50 years now, and of all of her songs, this is the most meaningful.

Ok, you started this journey with one of her most recent songs, now go to her very first,"Delta Dawn". She was 13 when she recorded it. When she was younger, her vibrato was extreme, but she has tamed it for the most part. Tanya has been through a lot. I watched a documentary on her not too long ago and was shocked to find out her face was severely burned when a chemical peel she was having went terribly wrong. It changed her looks quite a bit but to me she is still beautiful. It also effected her lungs and her singing voice. She is a fighter though and with Brandi's help, she came back with this beautiful song among others.

I've been all but begging for someone to play What's Your Mama's Name!! Even with 1st hit, Delta Dawn at the age of 13, She still has that same unique voice!! She has a lot of hits on that younger album. I love all her stuff, but particularly What's Your Mama's Name! Sure tells a story!!
