The term "green city" doesn't refer to how green it is regarding the actual color but rather sustainability regarding the environment.

LOL That was my thought, too. I mean, yes, there are other cities (San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento, Tacoma, Olympia, Spokane) but not many that I'd consider cities rather than just towns. I felt sorry for Boise getting little airtime because it's a surprisingly cool town with a great river walk, lots of breweries and coffee shops, and it's such a great place to live (with a relatively reasonable cost of living) that it's one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. And honestly, for living in L.A., he didn't talk much about the culture there -- in addition to all of the entertainment in terms of movie, television, and the music scene, it's a foodie heaven, especially if you like experimental things that happen in food trucks, and they have a ton of different cultures represented in the cuisines there. I doubt Korean barbecue would be as popular as it is today if not for L.A. really lining up for Kogi.

The reason is, most people already have an opinion on the city based on the weather. Him being from another country wouldn't have his opinion tainted by weather reports in other cities. During the 92 SB I was visiting my sister out in Colorado Springs, we attended a SB party hosted by her husbands Air Force friends....they were amazed at how beautiful the MPLS is/was, but it always came back to the weather. As someone that grew up in Mississippi, after 30 years in the cities, I personally don't think the weather is that bad...it is what it is.

At a Minnesotan, glad you enjoyed the view of Minneapolis. A great city, but don't forget its the Twin Cities and so St. Paul is right next door. I would recommend you look at a video on the "Great Lakes". They are the north shore of Minnesota as well as a major part of many of the states around here. The Great Lakes are why many of the cities around the midwest were built where they are.

The population numbers you find in your searches are residents within the city limits. Jacksonville, Florida - pop. 903,000 - is the most populous city in the state because it expanded its city limits to encompass the entire county, its metropolitan area population is only 1,534,000. Miami's population is 470,000 but its metropolitan area population is 6,198,000

Chicago is a great place to visit to get a great balance of green scenery, city landscape, awesome variety of food (italian, mexican, polish, german, etc.), and cultural locations including the The Field Museum with the most complete fossilized T-Rex in the world. Night life is pretty exciting as well with many bars, comedy clubs, and restaurants to take advantage of. I'd recommend visiting Chicago in the late spring around May/June or just before fall in early September when the weather is the best in my opinion.

Something interesting about where I’m from, St. Louis, is that it always looks much smaller than it really is. That’s because the city and county split at one point. This means that the official population of St. Louis city, is around 300,000, but if it was measured like almost every other city by including the county it would have around 1,300,000 people in it. Its a top 20 city in the USA for total metropolitan area population with around 2,800,000 people in it. Just a nice fact :)

I'm evaluating More on Boise Idaho, Boise Idaho is the safest place in America to actually live, although it is becoming the most up-and-coming expensive place. It is surrounded with beautiful evergreen forest and mountains, and foothills. Most people who live there have a two-story or more house, there's no huge skyscrapers and people are very outdoorsy, it is one of the most bike friendly places in all of America with bike paths all around. Is the 50th state ranking in state funding, but somehow the kids managed to get amazing grades there. It is a really nice place for a family.Although there has been a bit of a housing shortage as since 2016 a lot of people have been moving there. oh and my family had to go into a protection program and was brought here, so he was right about that. (we've been out of it for a bit though)
