And yes, the UNC/JMU score of 70-50 was indeed football, even though it looks like a basketball score. I was born and raised in TN, so I'm always gonna be a Vol, but I currently live in Chapel Hill, where the Univ. of North Carolina is located. The school paid James Madison $500,000 to play them, then got blown out like that. Craziness.

What the replay doesn't show is UT dialed back things to a large degree after it became obvious that the field conditions were atrocious. I don't know what OU did or didn't to to their turf but there are at least two clips out there of Squirrel White catching a punt in clear air, turning, and one or both feet just shooting out from under him like he was standing on ice. The field was a spongy, gooey, slippery mess and avoiding unnecessary injuries started to become a factor. One of OU's players was taken out after a nasty pile and the dude actually left a bowl-sized dent in the turf.

It also helped that our defense played elite in this game which gave Heupel the confidence to let off the gas and just have the defense win the 2nd half.

That field was awful. It was so long they needed to rent a hay baler. They tried everything to beat us. Even faking injuries.

Great game for the Vols! Oklahoma’s defense was everything as advertised, but thankfully for us, their offense was also as advertised. Defense has been so big for UT this year, which is not something we’re used to. Tennessee is off next week. Gives us an extra week to get healthy before the meat of the SEC schedule. In two weeks, we play at Arkansas. They have been a feisty team this year, and should have beaten a ranked Oklahoma State team, but they blew it at the end of the game. Last I checked, Arkansas is UT’s third hardest game remaining on their schedule this year. UT is still heavily favored, but I don’t know if this is going to be as easy of a win as some people are thinking.

Saturday evening CENTRAL TIME 6:30 is probably one of the most important games of the season. Ranked number 2 plays Ranked number 4 teams. Both teams had a practice Saturday last week. It could be epic.

Arkansas in Arkansas is our next game, they are the rushing yards leader I think. After that we play Florida who is never a guaranteed win for Tennessee for some reason 🤷🏻‍♂️. Then we play Alabama at home!! Gonna be a pretty wild month

He was under duress until late in the game when the defense decided to relax the pressure and play prevent to not give up big plays and make OU drive the field. Just admit the truth, Huepel didn't want to embarrass his alma matter. It's ok, OU will only get better as they get healthy, and maybe the O line will play better. Just wasn't their week

Alabama and Georgia will be games to watch. They're both ranked ahead of us and are big rivals. Usually Florida is a rivalry game, but they pretty much suck this year, so I anticipate no problems with the Gators. OK, I'll stop leaving comments now. Ha!

I don't think those fumbles were really his fault if think 95 percent of qbs would of fumbled getting hit from behind like that when your about to throw or when the guys helmet hits right on the ball there's not much you can do they had a great defense..ours was better tho and our coach said he changed the play calls at the end an took the foot off the gas cuz of how the defense was playing
