Beesley, you have no idea how excited I am to see you react to this game! It's one of the biggest rivalries in all of American sports. The atmosphere is electric inside the stadium and outside as well. The game is played at the State Fair of Texas and in addition to the 92,000+ at the stadium, there were 300,000+ that were at the Fairgrounds last Saturday. As an Oklahoma graduate and fan who's been to 12 games of this rivalry, this has to be the best game these two have played. The last 4 years of this rivalry has produced some epic games. After looking real quick I don't see some things that might make this even better for you: 1. The starting QB for OU #7 is Spencer Rattler. Before the season people had as the best in the country and going in the NFL draft as the first pick 2. He has been quiet and not playing up to that potential all season. 3. OU is known for an awesome run game and great Offensive line play but had not shown much of that until the second half. 4. Caleb Williams #13 who came in after the fumble by Rattler Hadn't played a game since his Junior year in High School due to covid canceling games where he lived. This was his first time in a college game for more than a play or two. 5. Texas has an amazing running back in #5, but it was OU's running back #26 had the better game running for over 200yards.

I was at this game at the 50 yard line! Me and my family are huge Sooners fans and get to go to the game every year, so I've seen a lot of these, but I don't think there's ever been an OU/Texas like this. Being at the 50 yard line we really got to see the whole range of reactions since we sit right next to Texas fans. The funniest thing to me was before the game, a Texas fan was taunting OU by chanting "We want Caleb!", the name of OU's backup QB (a joke because our starting QB, Rattler, had been underperforming). My Dad turns to the guy and says, "By the end you might regret asking for him." sure enough, after Caleb came in and started clawing us back, that same guy started chanting, "We want Rattler." The NFL is a pretty made-for-TV experience, but that's why I love college. It's the one type of football that's better in person.

Texas and Oklahoma started playing this game at the Texas State Fair in 1929. Demand for tickets was so high, they tore down the wooden bleachers and built The Cotton Bowl to house the game, and then some years later, other events as well. It is hands down the premier rivalry in all of sport. Oklahoma wasn't even a state yet, when they started playing Texas, in 1900. The all time record is 62-50-5. The overall points is nearly equal in the series. Every game has been decided by one score or less, for the last 15 years or so.

1:03 That is definitely the case with this rivalry. This rivalry game has been won within a one score margin for years, I believe. The year before, the game went into 5 overtimes. It was just as insane.. The same starting quarterback got benched part of the way through in that game last year, just like this year. But he was put back in and pulled out the victory last year. This year he didn't, and his backup pulled out the win.. This game was kind of like a deja vu/alternate reality to what happened last year.

I've said this on other videos, but I really appreciate the graphics of this college football package. Really sleek and eye-catching. I greatly enjoyed your reaction to this, Beesley. College football is matched by very few when it comes to sports.

As an Okie and fan of OU, I thought Texas was going to win. In comes Caleb (13) that Texas had been chanting for. A freshman and awakens the "Sooner Magic". Boomer Sooner. Great game Longhorns. Best game ever. Will be watching the ESPIES for this season

17:24 The guy that catches that ball is Oklahoma's former head coach's son.. He also caught the game winning TD in 5 overtime win, in this rivalry game last year. Also, his dad is coming back to coach the team one last time in their bowl game coming up, as the interim head coach, since Oklahoma's head coach left to another team without warning a few weeks ago. His dad coached Oklahoma when they got their last national championship. He's one of many legends for OU, and has a statue at the campus.

The fact that Texans and Oklahomans despise each other makes this game even more special. It is more than team against team or school against school. It's state against state.

That was cool to watch (I’m an OU fan) and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Last year’s OU-Texas game was pretty wild too (4 overtimes). You’re absolutely right though with rivalries, anything can happen. With OU-Texas and OU-OSU, even if one team seems infinitely better it can still be a brawl. Almost always a good but extremely stressful watch.

Proud Sooner fan here. I was at the OU vs Texas game in 2017. There is truly nothing like it. The stadium vibrates from the croud. If you are ever state side on the second Saturday in November I hope you are in Dallas for the game. You wont regret it.

Some stats: Most combined points scored in a single game in the series. Biggest comeback by either team ever in the series. Unofficially the loudest game in the series with 126.6 decibels during the final touchdown. OU took over the series points lead by 3. Texas leads the overall series 62-50-5 (. 551), but in the Modern Era of College Football (started at the end of World War II (1945)), the series is narrowly in favor of Oklahoma at 38-36-3 (. 513), and they lead since 2000 with a record of 14−7.

I was at the game, I’ve been to several of these rivalries, I’ve gone to a lot of different college and NFL games/stadiums, and this is by far the best game I’ve ever been to in the best atmosphere. The atmosphere doesn’t get much bigger than the Red River shootout in college football.

My friend went to this game. His seat was beside BEVO (Texas’s Longhorn) his seat was by no means the best and he paid $500 for it the tickets are crazy expensive and it’s still that packed! It’s a HUGE game in North Texas! Every bar or entertainment place for MILES (I’m 60+ miles away) makes a big deal with specials and huge watching parties!

My son is a student at OU and was at this game. It was his 1st time going to the OU/ TX. game and what a game to attend. Ive been down to Dallas 3 times for the Ou/Tx. game but watched it at a old movie theater on a huge screen and not at the stadium. Its a experience unlike any other football game Ive ever been to college and professional football. I love all the reactions to american sports from different youtube channels but Id love to see some reactions to women’s sports as well honestly like womens college world series and OU is also the college to start with.

If you was ever going to go to a college football game & a big rivalry game, this is one of the top 5 you should go see!! There is a little over 90,000 people inside the stadium & probably the same amount of people outside the stadium. It is a amazing atmosphere to be in. It's for sure one of the top 5 college football games people should go see, even if you are not a fan of the teams.

There's nothing else like this game live, in person. Not only is the crowd split down the 50 yard line, but it takes place at the Texas State Fair. So all the fair (fried) foods, midway games, carnival rides are going on right outside the stadium. If you're a sports fan, this game needs to be on anyone's bucket list. If you're not a fan of Oklahoma or Texas, just pick a side and enjoy. Anything can happen!

You mentioned the atmosphere inside of the Cotton Bowl Stadium, located in the Fair Park in Dallas. The game takes place at the height of the State Fair of Texas, where there is already a carnival atmosphere outside of the stadium. You should put coming to Texas during State Fair season on your bucket list. Maybe you can even bag a ticket to the RRR. The food at the fair is unbelievable and the exhibits, and rides and games are equal to none. I love going to the fair every year.

It's truly amazing to see that, while yes he mostly understands the rules, I've seen some people watch that have no clue and constantly asking "Why did this happen, what does that mean?", but to not know any storyline or history other than it's a rivalry game, has no care about who wins, but still gets caught up in the emotions that were shared by the fans that day.. it's truly amazing how sports can bring people together, that was an amazing game and it was great to see his reaction to everything Oh and one bit of advice, a high scoring game in football would be a game where both teams score at least 40 points each
