And she's a cow, to boot. Male buffaloes/bull bison are too aggressive and difficult to manage. In the late 60's or very early 70's, Colorado used to bring Ralphie to road games. Once, at the university of Nebraska, Bob Devaney, the head coach at Nebraska, accidentally stepped in a big pile of Ralphie poo. It was a televised game, and Devaney was not pleased by the notion of being seen on television with sh1t stains past his ankles. From that moment forward, the University of Nebraska banned live animal mascots from its stadium.

@@Aderbj All bison are buffaloes. All buffaloes, however, are not bison. Ergo, it is accurate to call Ralphie a buffalo. If she were a Cape Buffalo, it would also be taxonomically correct to call her a buffalo. It would, however, require a change in the university's branding strategy. And that would be a lot of extra work... Plus, the silhouette of the charging North American bison emblazoned on the helmet looks pretty cool. I don't think water buffaloes in full flight are quite as majestic. Maybe I'm wrong.

LSU's stadium is known as Death Valley. It's super intimidating due to the way it's constructed because it allows the noise to just reverberate around the stadium instead of going up and out. The only place I've been that matches it is the Superdome, and that's indoors.

I really like this channel! I've been an NFL fan since I was 6, and watching you learn the game is so nostalgic to me from when I was discovering gridiron football. I don't think you every REALLY learn the rules as they're a bit obtuse and eternally in flux. Every season's a challenge even for 30 year grizzled veteran fans like me.😂

Hey guys great video. I have to say, if you two guys showed up at a college tailgate and word got around that two British guys were there to see their team, you would instantly become a celebrity among the tailgaters as word would spread around instantly. Guaranteed you would be handed more food and drink than you could possibly consume lol...(and probably to some ones house for dinner,.. not kidding!! Happened to me in South Carolina when people learned I was from California, there to see their Gamecocks) State pride is a big thing here. I'm also sure you would get handed team gear and asked to pose for a hundred photos. American people would feel honored that you were there in their city to see their team. I think that Americans have a particular affinity for British people and we really know how to treat a guest. lol... ♥Its the American way. 🏈

Fun fact about the Notre Dame gold helmets. The Notre Dame is campus is famous for the gold dome on the campus and the helmets are painted with real gold from the dome

You guys should watch some college game day clips. It’s the thousands of fans who show up hours before and rock out to the pregame outside the stadium. There’s a Washington State fan who flies their flag at every college game day for the past 20+ years.

Love this! Thanks for watching! That ND/Michigan game was important because they have one of the oldest rivalries in college football, and they rarely play each other anymore. In fact, Michigan learned how to play football first and ND asked Michigan to teach the game to them. There’s a whole history there that turned into an epic rivalry. I’ve been to several college games. This is how I would explain being at a a major college football game. Imagine being at an air base and watching an F-22 take of every few minutes. The sound and the feel is just incredible.

That “bull” is actually a Buffalo. A female one at that. The Buffalo is called Ralphie and they’re currently on the sixth Buffalo called Ralphie. A team of 15 volunteer handlers take care of Ralphie with 5 running with her on the field with straps attached to her harness.

Y’all really need to check out the Georgia Bulldogs. 29-1 in the last 2 years with 2 national championships. Last year we had 5 guys taken in the first round of the NFL Draft (and will likely have 3 this year). On top of that our mascot is a purebred English Bulldog named Uga.

If you ever get the chance to tailgate, there are 2 good choices. Either go to a in-state rivalry game *Any state will do* or the Georgia/Florida game. The Ga/Fl game has been called the greatest outdoor party you'll ever attend. I've been twice and it was the BEST!!!!! I'm new to the channel, but you should watch Football Fly-Over traditions

Penn State grad here--welcome! You should go to a home game in "Happy Valley" (no, it does not have anything to do with weed)--University Park, PA. Plenty of good eats and bars in State College, Pa--for after the game--and you should be able to attach yourself to a few tailgate parties pre-game. October is probably the best month, but can get chilly quickly at the stadium.

so glad you like the Notre Dame helmets! as another person pointed out, our helmets have real gold in the paint - that's why they're so shiny and (in my opinion) the best gold helmets in football. every 15 years or so they re-guild the Golden Dome and scrape the old gold off - which goes into the paint for the helmets (and small flakes on our diplomas!)

Some suggestions: ECU’s entrance is awesome. Most videos don’t show the band part as well as the actual entrance, but it’s really good. I’m not saying do a reaction of it, but it’s worth checking out. Another thing is ECU’s 4th quarter tradition. Before the 4th quarter, we lower the black flag with our Pirate logo and raise on that says “No Quarter” (meaning no mercy) it’s awesome, I highly recommend watching tbst

Now I'm a big Notre Dame fan for sure. What's weird is I consider them underdogs, everyone else seems to consider them overrated. Having a dad that went there and a mom that worked there will do that to you though. I have NOT been to Notre Dame since I was 4 years old though. And it kind of pisses me off that my dad did not get back there after 1989, and passed away two years ago. Next year or the year after we need to go just to go, though the tickets are too expensive to go to a GAME per se.

Not a Bull for Colorado, that was a Buffalo. I used to wrangle a pod of 8 buffalo and they are mean, fast and very strong. Running that animal around the field takes a little courage (or stupidity) as they have a very poor attitude towards people in general.

Sure sports icons are great - but if it were up to me - i would hang posters of the 2 greatest gifts your country has bestowed upon mine - a poster of Led Zeppelin on one wall and a poster of Black Sabbath on the other.
