It's not the 5.5" Gun, but the rather larger American M115 8" Howitzer,

This looks a lot like my fathers WW2 gun the USA M2 155 mm AKA Long Tom. The loading setup is different. With my fathers gun the shell was carried by two men on a loading tray. and it was then manually rammed up into the breach. This gun has some kind of auto loader. The barrel length looks shorter too. Some of the 155s were supplied to the Brits during the war. This could be the howitzer version.

@kprop2125 my uncle in ww2 royal artillery opporated 155 mm in pictures looks nearly identical to us long tom but has bit longer barrel , the shells are identical to 155 shells today and cordite , mum mum said they were on the coast of England throwing shells over the English channel at Germans

IT IS DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THERE CAN BE ANY PROFESSION MORE DEMANDING THAN SOLDIERING . DEPENDING ON A SPECIFIC SITUATION IT BRINGS THE BEST AND WORST OUT OF HIM.THNKS VERY MUCH.

It's the UK 7.2" BL gun. British made gun on the yank made M1 gun carriage.

US supplied M2 155mm Long tom. The same gun used by my fathers US unit 36th Field Artillery batt. N Africa,Sicily,Salerno Italy, Anzio, Monte Cassino. Invasion of S France , Belgium, on to Germany. In NAfrica attached to Free French and British units. British Unit was 20 Commando.

涙😭涙が止まりません、防衛庁時代、アメリカ軍の供与兵器203ミリ榴弾砲です、砲架をおろすのに、ジャキアップしますがこれが大変です、体力勝負です、息をはずませ、一生懸命、砲架をおろします、火砲陣地に据えつけるのがまた、大変です、砲班長に叱られ、なにもたもたし てるじ ゃ早く据えつけろと射撃開始の時間が間に合わないと大変でした？、ポンコツ火砲、アメリカ軍が要塞砲を野戦砲にしたのが間違いです、破壊力が凄いからです、図体がでかい、扱うのが大変です！早く自走砲にならないか？我々の悲願でした
