I'm not a vegetarian by any means, but I think the ration "vegi" sausages are better than the alleged "pork" ones. That hot diggety dog sauce does have a bit of a twang to it. Lovely stuff. The contents look identical to the old style boxed rat packs.

Yeah they haven’t changed much over the last decade or so, gone from a cardboard box to a plastic bag, same old stuff still though. I do miss the corn beef hash 😂

I’ve had a few American MREs and the Peanut Butter is always my favorite item. It’s as close to what they used to serve in grade school (elementary) when I was a kid.

I believe it! My ex-husband was on some kind of exercise in the 1980's. He was stationed at the Castle and they were given rat packs. He brought his home with him. It was packed in a VERY small cardboard box and it was PATHETIC!

Well, after all, they are MRE's. They're not supposed to be "cuisine," just calorie suppliers. My favorite part(s) was him reacting to the hot sauce. He & I would never survive a hot sauce challenge (ok, HE wouldn't).
