In Metal Gear Solid 4, there's an optional Codec conversation where Colonel Campbell tells Snake about the time he attended an international "ration swap meet" where various military leaders from around the world tried other countries' military rations. According to Campbell, everyone there agreed that the French rations were the best while the US rations were the worst. He then passive-aggressively tells Rose that her cooking sucks by saying that she could learn a thing or two from the chefs who made the French rations. To top it all off, Rose chimes in that she actually enjoys US military rations 🤣

In Iraq we had an MRE Cookbook. It laid out all sorts of ways to combine several different main meals and ingredients. Some turned out really good. We tried one recipe to make a chocolate cake out of several Cocoa and creamer packs with finely crushed crackers, with M&M's mixed with water into a cake type mix then put into an Ammo can and either put on a HMMWV or vehicle engine. Or in our case just set in the sun. It did kinda turn into a cake but was barely edible. LOL Good times.

Comes with sweet corn bread. If you feel really daring throw in some hot sauce. I rarely want my food that spicy. Beef taco is really good cheese spread too. Chicken burrito bowl is amazing as well. All with cheese spread and/or hot sauce. The army over does it with pasta. After awhile all pasta starts to taste the same. Spaghetti with meat sauce is a must have if they are to keep any of the pastas around.
