Take a single pancake on a warm plate, the lemon juice is squeezed on spreading around, then sugar sprinkled ( a few small delicious clumps) then the pancake is rolled

Good one mate. In NZ here we have an instant batter that you just mix with water. Don't quite fancy it too much chemicals in it but I reckon manually make it like this is probably gonna give me a lot more pancakes & healthier as well.

Hi, ive only just found your youtube. Thank you for your straight talking, no nonsence approach, adding stuff bit by bit or not using everything in the bowls is boring. Ive done your pancakes and chicken parmesan dish. Both delicious. Have you done one for yorkshire puddings, mine are hit and miss.

Yes, Ann, actually, there will be a couple more coming along too. Best, Rik

Can i use self raising flour? Thanks
@BackyardChef8 ай бұрын
Try and let me know. I don't see why not but its not the usual way. Best, Rik

no, use plain flour. Somebody I know used self raising flour despite me telling him use plain flour and he said they were awful. So I said well what flour did you use. He said self raising so I said I told you plain flour.

No need to call them ‘British’ pancakes. They are simply pancakes. We can’t help that Americans are so dense as to go on and on and on about how they are ‘crêpes’.
@nopants35606 ай бұрын
LOL , and they cook them in a skillet ( WTF is that? OH it's a frying pan ! doh ! ) American recipes seem to make tiny scotch style pancakes that are as thick as a doorstep
@Richi7136 ай бұрын
There is a need to call them ‘British pancakes’ because that’s how they’re made in Britain. Other places around the world make them differently, including (but not exclusive to) America. Seeing as KZbin videos are available to a global audience it serves 2 purposes, to inform those not for the UK that this is how we make them here, and to signal to those from the UK who want to learn how to do it.

@@Richi713 I’ve never seen American youtubers call their pancakes (the smaller flabby ones) ‘American pancakes.’

@@nopants3560 In New Zealand we know those thicker pancakes as piklets, usually a small 3 inches across. Served with jam/jelly and whipped cream.
