@gabyleon28116 жыл бұрын
If you reread my comment, it says chocolate is native to Mexico, and there is truth to it originally coming from Mexico. Sooooo...Yes, the cacao bean origin was known to have grown in Mesoamerica (hint now know to be the majority of Mexico, down to a few other regions of latin America such as Guatemala, Honduras, etc.) Mayans used the cacao beans, (and Mayans are known to have inhabited most of Southern Mexico.) There is some history of Incas also using the cacao bean also, whom could have inhabited few parts of Mexico, and other regions of latin America. HOWEVER, the word "CHOCOLATE" comes from the NAHUATL langugage which IS THE LANGUAGE THAT WAS SPOKEN BY THE AZTECS! AND THE AZTECS ARE OBVIOUSLY FROM THE LAND THAT WE NOW CALL MEXICO (duh). FURTHERMORE, the Aztecs are known to be the first known people used the cacao bean in the form of a hot drink (similar to hot chocolate). THEY NAMED THAT DRINK CHOCOLATL, which translates to chocolate. The reason this is so, is because it is historical recorded fact that dates back to when the Spaniards invaded Tenoxtitlan, the Aztec empire (which is now present day Mexico City). The Spaniards were introduced to the drink and loved it so much that they later spread that beautiful chocolatl to the rest of the word. So therefore, MEXICANS ARE PROUD OF THERE CHOCOLATE, and therefore CHOCOLATE, YES CHOCOLATE originated in Mexico :p. I wrote a paper and did a presentation on chocolate for my Latin American History university class 5 years ago, :D so I'm very passionate about it. But in all honesty, History gives credit to the invention of Chocolate to the Aztecs. Sooo, hey hey hey chocolate Mexican. Just relax and enjoy its deliciousness. And careful when bringing up historical facts to a Mexican... we really really really know and love our history ;). Fun fact!! chocolate is also a key ingredients used in Mexican food, like Mole. That's what gives it it's distinct taste that you can only get by making it from scratch. We love out chocolate!

Chocolate is from Mexico, today it would be called “dark” chocolate. The only thing Europeans did was add milk to Mexican chocolate. Chocolate is Mexican.

Hi, I'm from Mexico,the name of the candy you eat, with a metallic bag is a "mamut", cookie, marshmallow and cover with chocolate. You ate the spoon candy, as it should. It is so popular in here, even without a label. We have a lot of that kind of candy. And "ZUCO" it is not really a candy or snack, it's just a concentrate of a tradicional drink that actually, I truely recomend you to try it if you come to Mexico, but the real Horchata. It is so fuking good!

And 4 if you liked that horchata (zuko brand) you have to try authentic home made horchata is 100x better its i can say the national mexican drink for us. I really enjoy your videos, graet channel. Captainboygamer-testing Chocolate , or cacao is Mesoamerican and existed at least 13,000 years throughout the region before Mexico was established. What part do you not understand?
@DanielAguilar-zn2ir6 жыл бұрын
@@ipissed that's right, I'm from Mexico and you are correct, cacao doesn't come from Mexico. However cacao has been present in the country for thousands of years and dates back to Mayan/Aztec cultures, where people would mix cacao with water to make drinks and different types of "candy". It was until the Spanish invaded what would become the Mexican territory that cacao started to get mixed with milk and sugar. And that became the base for the future recipes for Mexican chocolate. And although chocolate doesn't come from Mexico our country is one of the biggest producers and exporters of chocolate worldwide. I'm sorry if I don't make my self clear, my English sucks. Good day and peace
@ivanrodriguez2686 жыл бұрын
Cacao comes from a native plant to the region in Central Mexico and North Central America, the Spanish took it to Europe and chocolate was born. Im sorry other countries feel left out but this is how it was. Many countries now have chocolate and thats great, it tastes delicious.
