Anyone who thinks that this is an example of egotism hasn’t got a clue. Danny’s anger is quite evidently based on the fact that he’s been spoken to like a mug.

Back then facing up to authority meant a helluva lot. Champ.

A good example of old school British customer service.

Danny's not being egotistical, he is (rightly) annoyed that the press officer is being a twat. Right on DB. Love his Saturday morning show

Danny going from zero to Spud in less than a second.

Danny was 110% in the right. The BR man only showed how much of a knob he was. I remember when Danny stopped my mum & her friend in Walworth Road, about 30 odd years ago, around the time of the general election. My poor mum went purple, as she was a quite, shy woman, and her friend did all the talking. I've lost the clip i recorded at the time, and can't find it anywhere on social media. It's a pity🥵🤣

No "excuse me Sir" from the BR man. Got what he deserved. Get in there Danny!

Ignored Danny Baker in the sense of going on a website and watching a video of him? Your interpretation of the word "ignoring" is curious to say the least.

I think Danny is in the wrong in the first place, if he needed a permit or something ? but that BR guy talks to Danny like he was something at the bottom of his shoe, you dont get anywhere with people talking to them like that.
@JasonRadley11 жыл бұрын
So he didn't actually say: 'Don't you know who I am?'
The BR man was very rude, but so was Baker. It was "don't speak to me like that, I'm on TV so I'm important" when it should be "don't speak to people like that". He always had a very high opinion of himself.

you put something in quote marks that wasnt said. maybe in the intervening 8 years since you wrote this, you have learned to not mis-categorise peoples words and present them as facts.

I think this is an exception to the rule of celeb twats saying "don't you know who I am?" In this case its Baker thats standing up against these people who think we need a permit to tie our shoe laces
@davidjames579 Жыл бұрын
You do need a permit though, that's the whole point of his argument.

Both wrong, but that’s Danny Baker there.

CRINGE!!
@twitchygiraffe46366 жыл бұрын
This was staged anyway!
@ADFProductionsUK6 жыл бұрын
No this was not staged, I use to work in the same building as the BR Press officer, LWT had failed to get permission to film on the station, hence why he was asked to leave. If LWT had got permission from BR as they normally did, this would of not happened.
@twitchygiraffe46366 жыл бұрын
Honestly? It's just with the audience laughter it seems that way!
@twitchygiraffe46366 жыл бұрын
Also was this for the six o'clock show or something else danny was doing for lwt at the time?
@ADFProductionsUK6 жыл бұрын
The film was originally made for the the six o'clock show, but they used it again in a programme called "In Bed with Medinner" with Bob Mills. Hence why there is a laughter track. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Bed_with_Medinner

I think the initial approach of the rail official could have been much less dismissive, but he appears to have legitimate cause to ask Mr Baker to leave. Mr Baker's response is, in my view, overly aggressive. Particularly so when he is standing right next to a woman who has just expressed concern about an aggressive form of driving by male drivers. After the clumsy start I think the rail official keeps his cool well in the face of what in my view is inappropriate conduct by Mr Baker who pushes him, swears at him, derides him and at one point appears to suggest he is coming back to engage with the official when he is not being filmed. He also appears to suggest he will return again without a licence when this particular official is not on duty. I did not find this clip funny and wonder whether the laughter is canned.
