in 2003 he was a Senior in High School and was going to be the 1st pick in the NBA draft( They allowed HS players to do that at the time, now you must have 1 full year out of HS to start). ESPN basically anointed him "The Chosen One" and put a few of his games on National TV. He is legit top 5 all-time. Not as naturally skilled as MJ but knew how to get his team mates involved better.

It’s really tough to compare eras in basketball. The game has changed so much over the years. Some changes have made it easier for scoring, some for defense. Things like the high school draft rule - which regulates the minimum age players have to be to enter the league and has changed multiple times - also effect and skew career totals. There are four guys who I think can lay some claim to a GOAT crown in four separate eras. Chronologically they’re as follows: Bill Russell - won 11 titles in 13 seasons for the Boston Celtics in the 50s and 60s, including 2 as a player coach in his final seasons, becoming the first black man to win a professional title as a coach in American sports history. Back to back college championships and captain of an Olympic gold medal team at 22 before he played in the NBA. He was a 5x league MVP and regarded as one of the greatest defensive players and rebounders of all time. Notable for consistently shutting down Wilt Chamberlain (another absolute legend. 100 point game scorer) and beating his teams in the playoffs. Also an important figure in the American civil rights movement. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - 20 year career and a 19x all star. 6x league MVPs. 6 titles (but only 1 without all time legend teammate Magic Johnson) and 2 finals MVPs that were 14 years apart (71, 85). In his three years at college at UCLA he was a’3x champion and won the tournament MVP 3x. When he retired from the NBA he was the all time leader in points, blocked shots, defensive rebounds and games played. Also an important figure in the American civil rights movement. Michael Jordan - You saw The Last Dance so I don’t need to say much. Greatest competitor of all time. Most clutch player to ever grace the court. Only player ever to win a league MVP and the defensive player of the year award in the same season. Perfect 6-0 title record with 6x finals MVPs that probably would have been 8-0 if he hadn’t briefly retired in his prime to go play baseball. Best player on the best basketball team of all time (1992 Olympic “Dream Team”. Made basketball into the international phenomenon it is today. First and only billionaire basketball player. LeBron - Has lived up to and even exceeded the near impossible expectations that were put on him from his early teenage years when he was chosen as Jordan’s successor. He’s probably the most talented basketball player ever from a physical sense. While he gets lots of his attention for his thunderous dunks and blocks his passing abilities and overall basketball IQ are off the charts impressive. His finals record is certainly a blemish on his resume but since he shows no signs of slowing down at age 36, when it’s all said and done he may hold most all time league statistical records. Other players like Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe, Magic Johnson, Shaq, Larry Bird, Kevin Durant could all be considered and were/are truly amazing players in their own right whose fan’s I’m sure could make a compelling case for why they’re the GOAT but I think the four I listed are generally regarded as the greatest players of all time.

Jordan is 1A, Lebron is 1B. they're the 2 best players to ever play the game. at the top, when you compare players, it becomes quite subjective. there's no point comparing stats especially for players across different eras. but there's no debate that the 90s was dominated by Jordan, and the 2010s was dominated by Lebron. both guys were the absolute center of the league and the entire sport revolved around them.

MJ vs LeBron This is a silly debate. Clearly Michael is better. It's not even a close one. But let's go to the facts. Updated after Lebrons 17th season. Michael Jordan has •2 more rings •2 more final mvps •1 more DPOY •1 more season MVP •9 more scoring titles •3 more steals leader •3 more all defensive team selections •4000 more points / bron moved past him in playoff points, but it took him longer lol. •800 more steals •Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (Lebron only defeated 10) •Jordan never averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals Lebron did it twice •6/6 (never allowed a game 7) •Lebron had much more help •Jordan never had a teammate averaged more than 22 points in the finals.. Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26 •MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs •MJ had more points in the playoffs in less games.. All of this accomplished in 13 seasons Lebron is in his 17th season still chasing the "ghost that played in Chicago" •Michael Jordan in the playoffs has put up atleast 40ppg, 5rpg, 5apg in 6 different playoff series. Along with an average of about 55% shooting, 3spg and 2bpg. (86 vs bos, 89 vs cavs, 90 vs philly, 92 vs Miami, 93 vs Phoenix, 88 vs cavs) Jordan won every one of those matchups except for the 1986 matchup vs the celtics. •Jordan in 88-89 averaged 32ppg, 8apg, 8rpg, 3spg off 54% shooting. LeBron has never even came close to this stat line. •in 87 thru 92, MJ averaged 5 straight seasons of atleast 51% FG shooting. LeBron has never done this. •the lowest FT% MJ ever shot in a season was 78%. Lebrons highest in a season ever is 78%. •MJ has a higher playoff FG% of 48.7% to Lebrons 48.3% •MJ has a higher playoff player efficiency rating of 28.6 to Lebrons 27.3. •MJ shoots a higher playoff 3 point percentage of 33.2% to Lebrons 32.9% •MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year.. Seriously this list can keep going. This isn't even a debate. Mj is the GOAT. Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls: -10 STRAIGHT scoring titles, -Won Defensive Player of the Year, -9 times all defensive team, -9time All NBA, -5 league MVPs -6 finals MVPs LBJ missed the playoffs completely in his first 2 years. Jordan didnt with scrubs on his squad. Jordan played 82 games 9 times in his career once at 40. LBJ only played 82 games once. In 89 Jordan won the scoring title all star MVP slam dunk title regular season MVP and Defensive Player of The year something LBJ has never done. Jordan also averaged 41 pts a game for an entire Finals shootimg 50% and won. Something else LBJ never did. All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career... And before you criticize me for copy and pasting just know that it doesn’t matter if it’s copied or not, truth is truth. Check Mate.

If GOAT means stats( total points, assists, rebonds) LBJ be at the top or near the top of Mount Rushmore. LBJ is the most physically gifted BB player ever but his gifts been underutilized( on offense & defense) bcs of his passive, timid, nice guy personality. Kobe played every game as the last. Westbrook plays angry, Larry Bird was mean & fearless. MJ played every game like he's saving his life If LBJ had a mentality like any of those guys, he would have 7 rings by now. @@kabirconsiders , I didn’t watch the Jordon documentary (I’m a Pistons fan 😉), but as you saw, he likely had a _bit_ more of the killer instinct and B-ball focus. LeBron has his Hollywood and SJW aspirations, Jordan likes to gamble and has admitted something to the effect of “I don’t have a gambling problem - I have a competition problem.” P.S. Did you know there was a “Kabir” in the NFL? Well, he’s “Kabeer” - Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila who played for Green Bay and was their all-time sack leader. His bro, Akbar, was also in the NFL and is now a sport commentator (including _American Ninja Warrior_). Maybe y’all are similar ethnicity, maybe not (your name seems more of a Hindi spelling, but what do I know?): He’s a Nigerian-descended bloke raised Muslim, but now a fiery, controversial, fringe-Christian preacher in Green Bay who maybe could be described as a Christian “Malcom X - type.” Interesting dude, but maybe a bit of a nutter. 😜 Seeya next vid! 👍

Anyone who thinks LeBron is the GOAT never saw MJ play. Period. MJ shares the record for all defensive first team at nine. LeBron, only five. MJ was the more complete and more athletic offensive player. He was a better outside shooter, a better dunker, her was faster endline to endline, was a better clutch shooter, and had a better vertical. LeBron has been to the NBA finals 10 times with 4 rings. Every time MJ went to the NBA finals, which was 6 times, he won, and won convincingly. Michael won the MVP 6 times, LeBron, 4 times. Now, LeBron took some poor teams to the finals. But he also lost with some very good teams, and against the Mavs in 2011 LeBron tanked...and that Heat team was really good. The Heat should have won. Jordan always showed up and his team never tanked because of him. When it comes to off the court and the social justice cause in America LeBron is FAR more socially conscious and does FAR more for his people. Now I'm a long time Knick fan and during his career I hated the Bulls. But I can't deny greatness. MJ was the GOAT and it's not close.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 LeBron is no doubt among the best athletes at 6'8 that has every played in the NBA. And among its most skilled also. The NBA has had its share of exceptional players but NONE combined the both athletic ability, size, and skill that matches LeBron. The biggest difference in how LeBron is judged lies in the differences in attitudes toward the sport in this modern era vs the old school NBA of the 70's thru 90's. In todays NBA the ALL of the players make MILLIONS $$ and are well known. They contribute to main stream pop culture thru fashion, music, gaming, politics, social media etc...just to name a few, and are celebrities in their own right. Also, today's players are likely to be friends with their opponents which is a clear departure from the old school NBA where the players and fans lived solely to punish and humiliate their rivals. Old school player like Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic, Dennis Rodman etc... played a rougher, more brutal brand of basketball. I was war out there, and these guys are truly massive. Today's top players are seen as assets that need to exploited but protected. A serious knee injury or Achilles tendon injury can cost a player 100's of millions of dollars in endorsements and contract value. As evidence by LeBron's 77M followers on Instagram that earn him addition millions from sponsors. The League today is more of a global game and BIG business. The players are a commodity and their brand as individuals has tremendous value the NBA. For example, a foreign NBA player like Luka Doncic who has become a star in the NBA is going to generated millions of $$ of new business back in his home country of Slovenia and probably all over Europe. The same is true for the Greek freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Serbian, Nicola Jockic, Frenchman Tony Parker. and Rudy Gobert and so on. The NBA has become masters at marketing its players and growing the leagues popularity around the world. (Especially in China) I can't wait until some British guy becomes a star in the NBA, MLB or NFL. These sports are already gaining a foothold over in the UK since Brits and Americans are such natural allies through our shared language, values and history. With your recent departure from the EU, the UK is seeking a sweetheart trade deal with US, which will ultimately mean a greater exchange of cultures between our two countries. Don't be surprised when you see a lot more American products, brands and franchises wash up on your shores. I can honestly state as fact the the Premier League is MASSIVELY popular out here on the west coast. (The Liverpool F.C. and its stadium is owned by the Fenway Sports Group which is an American company based in Boston) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenway_Sports_Group The ties between our two countries are endless.

The thing about LeBron going to the finals those 8 consecutive years is that he was coming out of the Eastern conference. In the NBA the 30 teams are split into eastern and western conferences. The winner of each conferences playoffs play each other in the finals. The NBA’s eastern conference - where LeBron spent his entire career before joining the Lakers two years ago - has been notably weaker and less competitive than the western conference for about 20 years now. Almost every year this is the case. It is very unlikely that LeBron would have went to 8 consecutive finals had he been playing in the western conference.

For some reason people don't want to give LeBron the accolades that he deserves. There has never been a player with as much all-around talent as LeBron. No player has ever taken his team to 8 consecutive championship (10 overall)! And many of the teams he played on were very weak. Michael Jordan never won anything until he played with another Hall of Famer--- Scottie Pippen. LeBron can play and dominate every position.

Lebron is arguable the Goat. I think jordan had a more story book career. with 6 finals thing. but you also gotta understand it's a team sport. jordan had better teams than the opponents he faced in the finals. lebron was taking scrubs to the finals. some of the teams he dragged to the finals dont even belong in the playoffs. he was putting up 35 points per game triple doubles and it just wasn't enough. so its unfair to fault him for that. but if you are talking just pure basketball, noone is a more complete and better than this guy. he can literally do anything. but yes it's kareem, jordan and lebron at the very top. put them in any order, i am fine with it.
