The dude that interviewed Lebron (@10:28) was Craig Sager, an absolute legend who covered the NBA since the early '80s. This was Craig's first game back after going through treatment for leukemia which was unfortunately not successful and he died about six months after this game. I was fortunate to have worked for him for a while and got to know him a little. He took a few of us to a Hawks game once and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Like being a part of a royal family or something. Anyway, RIP Craig.

10:56 the Golden State Warriors were located in Oakland, therefore, it was not a neutral site 12:46 game 7 isnt that common, but at the same time, it isnt that rare either 13:43 the Cavaliers had a 52-30 record (I believe?) and the Warriors had an NBA-record 73-9 season, (record that still stands) so the Warriors had the home-court advantage for the series (home-court advantage is determined by which team has the better win-loss record) 17:23 not only was it the Cavaliers' first NBA title in their 52-year history, but it was also the first pro sports championship for any of the teams in the city of Cleveland (Browns in the NFL, Indians in the MLB, Cavaliers in the NBA) in 50-plus years! 20:38 an NBA finals series, or any NBA playoff series would take about at minimum 1 week and a max of about 2 weeks.

A few things to say for context: 1. Draymond Green wasn’t hurt during game 5, he was suspended automatically because he got a technical in game 4 and went over the allowed limit. 2. The reporter Lebron was talking after game 6 is Craig Sager, who was battling cancer and unfortunately passed away. 3. Curry was ejected in game 6 after he fouled out and he threw his mouthpiece in frustration. Crowd went crazy, not sure why they didn’t show that but you might want to look it up.

Your comment about trading blowouts before a tight game 7 reminds me of the 2012-2013 Heat-Spurs series. Games 1-5 were all utter blowouts, but 6 went to overtime and 7 went to the last seconds. It is just so damn hard to close out a great team, and when you have two of them those clincher scenarios seem to go down to the wire.

I feel like it should be noted that it’s “52 years for any champion regardless of professional sport”. It was 50 some years between Chicago Cubs championships but the city of Chicago still had championships from the Bears, Bulls, White Sox and Blackhawks in that time. Since 1964, no Cleveland team of any sport had won a championship in 52 years. Coming back from 3-1 was about the most CLE thing that could’ve happened to end a drought like that.

Some additional context. The Cavs were in the finals in 2007 (lebron's first stint) they lost to San Antonio in 4 games. Lebron left to go to Miami and won 2 titles in Miami (going to the Finals all 4 years losing to Dallas in the first year, winning the next 2 and losing to San Antonio his last season in Miami). He came back to cleveland and due to injuries they lost in 2015. 2016 proved a bit more successful but they couldn't get their stride. Coach Blatt was fired Midseason and Lue took over as Interim coach. The last Cleveland team to win a title (in any of the 3 major sports MLB, NFL, NBA was the Cleveland Browns in 1964. There were so many close moments, the Drive, The Fumble, Jordan's shot over Craig Ehlo, the Indians falling short in the world series in 1995 and 1997 and the Cavs in 2007 and 2015). When we were down 3-1 we had the inevitable feeling. We have been here before and we don't win these types of games let alone championships. Green fouled out and received too many Flagrants and was ejected in G5 and suspended (too many fouls) for G6. Curry got ejected in G6 when he thought a bogus foul was called and threw his mouthpiece in frustration. Then we had the run. Tied it up and went GS tied at 3-3 each. Winner take all. It was a good game but you got the inevitable feeling again when Igudola got the pass from Curry... You should react to the reactions from the Cleveland Fans after finally winning it. For a game not in Cleveland the arena was showing the game on the giant scoreboard. 52 years of frustration. 52 years of failure. 52 years of futility... Gone in 1 game. PS: for those interested in Karma after the stop when Kyrie was dribbling up the court and after he got the ball to Lebron after the foul JR Smith hugged him. In 1 glance JR's number 5, Kyrie's number 2 briefly showed 52. The number of years Cleveland didn't win a title. Similar to when the redsox finally won their world series and Damon and the other outfielder (name escapes me) were celebrating and there's a picture of them looking into the crowd one player wearing 19 the other 18. The last year the red sox won the world series prior to that win.

Golden State finished that season with a 73-9 record in the regular season which is the best record of all time. Also, in the previous round, in the Western Conference Finals (essentially the NBA semifinals), they came back from down 3-1 to Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and the OKC Thunder. That's part of the reason why Durant leaving to join Golden State the next season was so ridiculous, OKC was one game away from the finals just the previous year.

It rarely goes to 7 games unless it’s 2 dominant or a superstar may get injured or maybe just the heart and determination of said team. In the finals they never play back to back because they need rest and they also travel to the next city and they watch film on their opponents so it’s a day between so say game 1 is Monday, they won’t play game 3 until Wednesday if you get it so it’s like a day between
