That last play was so incredible as well because in that game he set the record for triple doubles in a season (42). Then he wins the game at the buzzer. Amazing! Triple double: double figures in 3 statistical categories in the same game, usually, but not always, points, rebounds and assists. Has also been done with steals or blocks, but very rarely. There have also been a handful of quadruple doubles but that’s extremely rare.

The #1 play is #1 because of the context. The shot was a buzzer beater, it gave him 50 points, it officially eliminated the Nuggets from playoff seeding, and it occurred during his 42nd triple double of the year, which set a new NBA record originally held by Oscar Robertson for his 1962-1963 season.
@me-qt8ye5 жыл бұрын
The context for the last clip makes it even better. Westbrook in the game of that last clip, had a 50 point, 16 rebound and 10 assist triple double . That was his 42nd triple double of that season which broke the regular season record for most triple doubles in a season and averaged a triple double for season and became the second player in NBA history to do that and the he won MVP for the season. And he averaged a triple double for the next two seasons as well.

The dunks where the player looks like he is winding the ball in a full circle is called a windmill dunk. You were also talking about the shot clock. You get 24 seconds to shoot the ball then a buzzer goes off. If the same team rebounds the ball the clock resets to 14 seconds for that team to shoot again. If the opposing team rebounds the miss then they receive a full 24 seconds to go shoot on the other end of the court.

4:50 it was still Legal because the ball made contact with the rim, thus resetting the shot clock for another 24 seconds, had it hit the backboard or air balled it would’ve been a shot clock violation

There is a 24 second shot clock which limits each possession, but once the ball hits the rim, the shot clock resets. What happened there was the shot was taken right before the end of the clock, it hit the rim but came off, the clock reset to 24, then Westbrook got the rebound and dunked it.

number 1 is insane for a lot of reasons. 1. He got his 42nd Triple double that game ( double digit points, rebounds and assists) which beat the previous record of 41, a record that was thought to be unbreakable. 2. That three was his 50th point 3. He had scored 18 of the last 21 points of that game, the 3 point (had an assist on the 3 points he didnt score). 4. Prior to that game, Russ needed 14 Rebounds to officially average a triple double for the season ( done only once in history) and he got 16, making him the second player ever to average a triple double 5. That game was the last game of the regular season, the Nuggets had to win that game to make the playoffs, meaning Russ basically knocked them out of the playoffs
