British Virgin Islands Sailing - Anegada, January 2020

In this video we traveled 15 miles from Leverick Bay on Virgin Gorda to Anegada. Winds were light so we motor sailed most of the way. We picked up a mooring ball and had some lunch in one of the most idyllic spots in the BVI.
We all went to shore and rented some scooters to check out the island. We motored over to Cow Wreck Beach Resort and spent the day walking the beaches, swimming in the crystal blue waters and catching some sun. We might have had a few cocktails and beers to keep us hydrated.
Cow Wreck Beach got its name from a ship wreck. In 1929, a 380 foot-long steel freighter called The Rocus was heading from Trinidad to Baltimore with a cargo full of cow bones that would later be ground into fertilizer. Unfortunately, the Rocus made an unexpected and final stop on the southern tip of Anegada’s treacherous Horseshoe Reef.
Since the wreck, the ocean floor has been eerily scattered with cow bones. As for the freighter, it is still lodged on its starboard side just beneath the water’s surface and has barely budged an inch since 1929.
We headed back for showers, put on our best "island wear" and then came back into enjoy a great lobster meal at Potters By the Sea. We got the dance party started at Potters before we headed back. On our way we stopped for a few more dances at the Anegada Reef Resort.
Another amazing day with our crew. It is rare that eight people are thrown together for a week and get along so well. These are truly exceptional people and I am glad to have been along on another glorious day of sailing and exploring in the British Virgin Islands. Enjoy, Share, Like and Subscribe to our channel. Leverick Bay to Anegada is straight north, heading of 0 degrees about 13?miles. Winds out of the east on the beam.
