Nice display, during the 1980s brown and black boot polish was used to add a disruptive splotchy pattern to the helmet sand bag/ cut up helmet cover and the scrim, also an old worn out Army towel was commonly ripped up to add to it... The plastic camo net scrim was avoided by some as it could caught fire during the Bayonet Assault Course.

Great video noticed you have a Northern Ireland metal riot shield in your collection what a great item I managed to get one recently been looking for years there seems to be quite a few of these coming on to the market at the moment Bosleys have one in their auction later this month I also met you at Military Odyssey in August what a great show that is

Evening mate much appreciated and yeah I remember thanks again for the kind words, in relation to the sheild it was an out of the blue purchase last may and when the guy who approached me about the sheild he was selling and told me the price i couldn't get the cash out quick enough ha ha. There do seem to be a few popping up from time to time, I'm guessing alot of older collectors are selling off their wares.

1970s and 1980s ENERGA pouch pretty often used to store your BFA (blank firing attatchment).

God I remember being issued this crap in the eighties; having to fling the rucksack over your head was mental.

58 pattern webbing was awful, obsolete and pretty useless when wet. But it was cheap.
