AIRBORNE WINS THE 1946 DERBY

Trained by Dick Perryman (who was a prominent jockey before the war) and was related to my Father who backed Airborne when he was at 100-1 and won a sizable amount of money, Airborne also won the St. Leger.

Not a successful stallion, although he did sire a certain horse named Flying Bolt.

Rated 1 pound below Arkle... His Mackeson gold cup win at Cheltenham. In 65 on a waterlogged course carrying 12-6 is phenomenal
