My brother in law did an apprenticeship with British waterways in the 50s and 60s. Oak gates, every evening his cutting tools were taken to be sharpened, including a chisel 10 ft long with an 18" wide blade for face trimming gates from the top.

I took my grandson to the workshop at Stanley last years 'open day' and he loved it. Such a shame they don't do it more often, he's driving me mad for another visit!

Why not put RUBBER DUMPER at the Corners of the Gate for Sealing and longer life span.
