It's weird how the younger generation of today have no idea how crazy iconic and impactful Britney Spears was at the time. In an era with WAY less social media, she was honestly everywhere and EVERYONE knew who she was. Sadly, I do think this was her peak, and she went downhill after this. Still an icon though.

But they know who she is though. It is just they have this current image of her (after breakdown/or during breakdown). When they do these types of reaction videos it's when they get shook, because they don't know her in this level of performance. They know her mostly by her amazing music videos and timeless songs.

I would argue that this was her peak (2001 VMAs were a year away, Toxic was 3) but this undoubtedly was the night she became a superstar.

i’m from gen z and i love britney and i know her impact, she is adored by the biggest artist right now, but it’s true how my generation doesn’t really know her impact, which is so sad.

Iconic. It's hilarious to me looking back on it because it was such a controversial performance back in 2000. I was 13 at the time and everyone talked about it for days at school. Today's pop stars could never.

Britney was only 18 here! That's crazy to think someone so young knew how to work an audience and invision a performance like this. She had an intuition that was so profound at such a young age.

This is possibly one of the greatest pop moments I've lived through. I was like 11 years old and a chrietina stan. This was the days before Internet was thing. And when insaw this I was like blown. It was such a phenomenal performance and probs the best VMA performance of all time imo. It was all people talked about in school the next day.

That "oh I did it again" at the end was not just the title of her song and her album, it was also a clapback to the people who said she was just a one hit wonder or "a 1 album artist". Ironically, the Oops album broke the record of the best selling album in a week with around 1.5 million copies and was certified diamond.

A lot of people don’t know that Brit was a trained dancer her entire childhood before she became a star. She’s had multiple knee injuries and knee surgeries from how hard she goes in her performances. She’s incredible. She is an awesome dancer and a great performer overall. She is one of the best performers and Britney influences K-Pop to be honest. Ever since she went to perform in Korea in 2003, they went crazy over her went she persomed a slew of songs to promote her 4th studio Album "In The Zone" and "BOOM" K-Pop was born. Britney has always had a loyal Asian fan base from she started out. Britney Spears's reach is worldwide because I live in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and when I was growing up in the late 90s and early 2000s it was either you are team Britney or Team Christina Aguilera and I can tell you 90% would be on Team Britney including myself.

Even just like a fun fact.. i know coz i used to cut colllect any of her image even as small as my finger the picture was.. Pinup photos no worries they got it cover all in.. one year probly u could get like 3 or 4 giant pinup poster of her.. Its a britney world phenomeana.. Bcoz people around the globe knows her.. Her haters is as much as her fans.. Thts is probly one of the reason.. N beside not to forget in tht time she got the title THE MOST POWERFUL/INFLUENCE (cant remember) PEOPLE IN THE WORLD..
