I'm pro choice in the first trimester, first 12 weeks ( because the child won't feel any pain ), BUT I'm also for both partners trying to work it out and talking and being respectful with each other. I want to be a mother, but in case I wouldn't and my partner absolutely wouldn't want nothing more in his life than this child, I would probably not abort and carry it full term. But that could lead to us breaking up and him taking full custody. Now I want to have children, so abortion is out of the question for me anyway. But I believe it should be the decision of every couple. Why women have the most say in the end? Because the child grows in her body. And history has shown us already how terrible it can end if we try to force women to carry to full term. If she truly doesn't want to, we can't make her. There used to be secret abortion clinics, where abortions were also often butchered in the past, all kinds of diy "technics" with coat hangers or other stuff, trying to get medication illegally. All of this is life threatening for both the woman and the child. You could lose both in the end. This were very real dangerous circumstances we had. And they were terrible. So let's not go backwards in history. In my homecountry abortion is still allowed, but only in the first 12 weeks and you have to go to counselling ( which is free ), then have 3 days thinking time and then you have to repeat the wish that you want to have an abortion. They ask for your partners opinion as well. But in the end they won't force anyone. Because that can end deadly for both woman and child. Things often are complex and not black and white. That would be nice and less complicated, but life rarely is ( English isn't my first language, sorry for mistakes )

It takes 2 people to make a child. If a man is not ready to have a child and tells you as much, it’s still YOUR body to make a decision wether to terminate the pregnancy or not.
