If her songwriting had been nurtured by her team instead of shut down because it “didn’t fit her image”, I can see Britney being a respected pop songwriter like Taylor Swift is now. I hate that this woman was never encouraged to be the best version of herself possible :(

Original Doll is the reason I rage when my friends say stuff like, all Britney's songs sound the same and that she's untalented, uncreative and just generic pop. Its so tragic that most of the world will never know this. I've always felt a bit heartbroken by Britney. It's heartbreaking knowing that Britney's team and record label effectively muted her artistry. She's an amazing songwriter and had Original Doll been released, it would have been a game changer for the expectations of pop stars. It would have even given her the respect an artist of her magnitude rightfully deserves.

+. Uhm there are sources out there who know for a fact that Britney was in fact working on an album. It's also known that her label was NOT happy with the fact that she aired Mona Lisa on KISS FM without letting Jive know. We also know a bit later, she also got pregnant. There are also rumors about her label not liking the way the songs sounded, not liking the fact that they just released GH:MP. Also, basically, she wouldn't be able to promote it the Britney way, because of her pregnancy and her knee injury. So, if she were almost done with the album, she wouldn't've gotten it through anyway. Plus, she wanted to start a family and an album isn't the smartest move then But, seeing as she herself confirmed she was halfway done with the album, and confirmed the album title we do know it wasn't "just some songs scrambled together".

+. You'll never know what was going on with her record label. " I do feel that some things which were done for me were not always in my best interests. " "It’s amazing what advisors will push you to do, even if it means taking a naive, young, blonde girl & putting her on the cover of every magazine." "I’ve actually learned to say “NO!” With this newly found freedom, its like people don’t know how to act around me. Should we talk to her like we did when she was 16 or like the Icon everyone says she is?" Britney (official website, 2004)

I wish she'd make an album that's completely stripped down, no computer effects, no backup singers, just a few instruments and her voice. Something very simple and clean. It'd be nice to listen to. Other singers may have wider vocal ranges than Britney but they're so desperate to show off their voices that they end up screaming and listening to them becomes unbearable.

+sarahbbyy luckily, we have proofs like Perfume on Britney Jean that tell us her real voice is not lost, at least not completely LETS be clever here. she has almost the same vocal talent as when she was sixteen. faking a nasal Voice hurt her real voice, but trust me, she appreciates her real voice and wants to Keep it. how do I know? she Lip syncs. thats the proof. she knows she can fake her nasal Voice live, but she doesnt want to and excuses on the dances (even though she Could do both). she just uses the nasal Voice on recording sessions and studio Sessions. NOT on #B10, maybe on #B11 she will show her real voice. dont yall worry. realney is coming

Sarahbbyy Max Martin wanted her to do the baby voice so it can be unique for people to hear and they feared she wouldn't sell records with her natural voice just starting out. When she would sing live, her natural voice(which is shown on this track) would come through and over time her management would either have her sing with backing track or full on lip sync because they didn't want her to do her natural voice, but they occasionally would let her from time to time..unless she did it herself.

This song is Britney Jean Spears. She wanted to go the musical theatre route for her singing because of her huge theatrical clear and powerfully alto voice but her label just chopped her down at every angle. She should make a jazz or musical theatre album with her real voice. As of 2017 she proved live that she could really sing live and sing with her natural voice and be fucking slaying with it. We need to show her that's what we want from her.

another perspective on touring entertainers who sing; there is a lot going on stage when they sing. singing and pitch is just part of the job. that she pulls off any reasonable song and handles the dance/stage/effects is difficult. entertainment isn't perfect and i admire anyone who does it at all and has made a career from their efforts.

Britney saying goodbye to Kevin in 2007 with let go! Britney saying goodbye to JT in 2013 with her song don't cry. Justin was the love of her life. She had to say goodbye to him later on. First loves are hard to forget. And in both songs she was tearing up. But damn both assholes. They treated her bad. They both did her wrong.
